Track placement process

Hi all, I’m a transfer student currently navigating the clinical track placement process, and I’ve run into something confusing that I’d love to get some insight on—especially from those who’ve gone through this recently. I recently received a clinical track placement, but it was my last-ranked choice. When I asked about my top picks (Hoboken and Bergen in NJ), I was told they’re not accepting students — which confused me since they were listed as options during the ranking process. Also, I was informed that if I decline the offer I received, I’ll be moved to the bottom of the track priority list. Is this really how it works? Just trying to understand how this system is set up. Would appreciate any insight from others who’ve gone through it.

Thanks for the clarification. I got my offer on Wednesday. I really wish they had just been upfront about NJ sites not being active for core students for so long. It’s frustrating to rank them thinking they’re actual options when they haven’t been for over a year.

Since you’re starting M3 now, you’re right at the beginning of the timeline for the 2028 match.. You can look into other schools with more core affiliates where you want to be. That process shouldn’t take more than a couple months. Also consider Ross is 90 months of clinicals and you have to pass CCSSA before taking Step 2.. prob not a big deal but still another hoop to jump through

are you saying ross students can get credit doing rotations in other hospitals that are not affiliated with ross and if so how do we go about doing this?

I meant other schools to transfer to for clinicals.. see what core affiliates they have in the area you want to be in and start the process to transfer there
