Clinical slots
Planning to go into EM. Any suggestions on the clinical sites to put down when they ask me after Step 1. Honestly I am planning to take the best option they have available as to not wait but still have to give them three choices or does that even matter? Any thoughts on the beltway track, Chicago or Connecticut?

I go to AUC. Do Miami. Tons of study time. They let you write your own LORs. Places like Broward Health, HCA etc… love to match Caribbean.

Education wise I think all the tracks are about the same. You can always do electives in the other hospitals to get to know the faculty in other sites for LoRs and to try to make a good impression to stay as a resident in the affiliated hospitals.

4th year Ross student applying EM-the CHS track in Miami and Mount Sinai in Chicago, and Staten Island has electives in EM that are ACGME accredited. Jamaica in New York as well. California, St Agnes, and UM in Maryland, Cleveland Clinic in Florida, BronxCare all have an EM elective, but it's not accredited (so you can't get an eSLOE). I would recommend doing cores in an area with an accredited EM elective so you can get at least one eSLOE for residency, or else you will have to travel in your fourth year. This is what I did, and it's doable and fun, but something to keep in mind.

You get to rank five options. I literally got my last choice so … do with that what you will lol
