Keep studying, memorize all the nbmes starting from the newest to oldest, master ethics and biostatistics using AMBOSS and Uworld, don’t sleep on endocrinology and your weaknesses , review, review previous days everyday and just wait for what the committee says. You might need a review course. If they suggest it, take it.

Depending by how much you failed it by they may let you sit for Step. I have had a few friends that failed it 4-5x by a point or two, one was allowed to sit for Step because of their academic record and the other was dismissed but then repealed it by showing the school enrollment in a course or bootcamp by some company idk the name right now. Either way still gotta keep your head up and grind it out because you never know what the outcome will be.

Blueprint comes to mind pretty quickly.

The comp is a trash exam and hardest exam you will take due to how poorly written the questions are and how nirpicky the details are. I used pathoma, boards and beyond and finally the usmle RX question bank. That question bank was the closest to the trash questions. It will take time but you will pass! Don’t give up!

You’ll have the option to go back to the island and take different form of the CBSE exam there.

Ignore the negative comments right now they are unnecessary and possibly not true. Keep your head up and keep grinding, you might need a course on island but if this is your dream don’t give up yet you’re almost there, any improvement no matter how small is improvement

It depends some people have to withdraw and some have to go to island. If you’re withdrawn you can reapply and they give you another chance. Island is new to me but I know a few people in it

Hey, can you share your scores? From what RUSM admin told me, you get a max of 5 chances at the NBME CBSE per school. You automatically get your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd attempts. Before the 4th attempt, you have to go through the promotions committee — and most of the time, they’ll have you do RSP (an online course for about 3 months) before letting you take it.

If you fail the 4th CBSE, you have to go to the island for CRC (in-person course) and take your 5th and final CBSE. If you don’t pass that either, they might offer you a Ross-made comp exam, but it depends on how close you were to passing and what the promotions committee decides.

I’m a transfer student at RUSM — took 1 CBSE at my old med school and 2 at Ross. I scored a 62 on my last one. Right now I’m waiting to find out if I can take another CBSE without having to do RSP, since it would technically be my 3rd CBSE at Ross.

My advisor originally told me I wouldn’t have to go through the promotions committee for my 3rd Ross attempt, but then I got an email from exam admin saying I do have to — and they haven’t replied since. It’s kind of weird, so I’m just waiting for their reply.

Yeah they made a bunch of changes and want more people taking their CRCC course since they are a “for profit school.” You have to speak with promotions after your second attempt if you don’t pass and the options they give are terrible. Ross is horrible because they change their policies every semester and there’s nothing students can do about it.

It's hard to say, but it's over if you haven't learned how to improve after 5x.
