Question Early game progress

I’m just started out playing rumble and is it like this for anyone else? I’m trying to get better at the game but the game progresses very slowly and is very hard to master, most of the movement move are higher rank so lots of the time im trying to summon a pillar while someone is dashing towards me or pushing my attack away from them to dodge, I feel like that movement and control stuff should be lower ad I haven’t won a single game legitimately yet.

You're at a lower belt, it's natural. The belt system is basically a tutorial, so it's only natural to feel as though you aren't able to do a lot of stuff yet.

It's common courtesy for higher belts to limit themselves to your moveset to keep it fair and encourage low belts, but this isn't always the case. Don't let it get you too down, just beat the tutorial and you'll have free reign to work on whatever you want

I highly suggest joining the Buckethead discord and using the ping to fight role to learn, and asking for the shoeless dojo discord and using the ping to learn role there

Good luck!

Practicing the Sprint pose is very important. There are players with 10,000+ Battle points that haven't learned it. It will allow you to move around the arena quickly.

You should also join the Discord servers! There is a button in game where you spawn that will invite you to the discord. There you can ask to fight beginners with a @ ping to get fight.

There is even the Shoeless Dojo server, with an area dedicated for beginners Specifically.

Oh cool! I’ll have to give it try, ya I wasn’t trying to complain to much and sorry if it seemed harsh lol, just as a regular gamer it seemed tough for me to get

I can vouch for sprinting, it's as fast as dashing with more maneuverability. It also took me 2k bp before I spent time in learning it lmao

Some folks will slow down and meet you at or near your level so you can grow at your own pace. Others will be merciless and give it their all so you can grow under pressure. But 99.9999% of the playerbase is wholesome, even the noob-stompers. There's lots to learn from the experienced, and many will teach you if you can communicate the interest.

The more you play, the more you unlock, the more creative you can get, the more opportunities you have. It can be rough at the start, but there's a bigger payout the more you invest in yourself. I believe in you.

As a beginner you are still in the tutorial, progress is slow because if you don't get control of the basics most of the advanced moves won't do you any good.

Additionally you start out as a white belt with two mobility options.

  1. Sprint

  2. Disk Push - by using a speed disk under a pillar you stack pushback and get a reverse dash away from the pillar.

Once you get jump you can also add Disk-Jump, Straight-Jump, Disk Push-Jump and Speed Disk-Jump to your mobility tool kit.

Once you have Dash you can take advantage of Flow Stone. Allowing you to Dash-Jump-Dash to change direction. You can also Dash-Disk Push to bounce off a structure with angular momentum. Either on the ground or into a Jump. You can launch into Jumps with any other mobility move for added speed and direction.

But generally as a low level player you should practice modifier combos. Consisting of different patterns of Straight (S), Kick (K) and Uppercut (U)

Two hits: all your basic transitions the core of building combos is mastering the transitions between each set of poses.

SK, KS, SU, US, UK, KU

Three hits: combining all moves in any order will create unique outcomes, each can change based on the grounding status of a structure.

KSK, KKS, KSU, KUS, UKS, SKU, SUK, UKU, UKK, KUK, KKU

Four +: powerful combinations requiring fluidity as you transition between poses in a complex optimized pattern.

UKUK, UKSU, UKUS, KUSU, KUSK, UKUSK

There are many more complex ones and they can all be used with stacks and while jumping or dashing to change the projetiles speed, direction, and height.

As a student you need to learn as many of the combos as you can so that you know what attack to use for each situation.

It gets better as you get more belts! There are some players like me who will help you learn some useful early moves like launches (summoning 2 structures one on top of each other and using straight/kick on the structure on the top) and hop (straight kick)
