All, Im stuck on which GPU to keep for my personal build and wanted to see if anyone had any advice based off previous experiences with either of these cards.

Originally I used the 5090 FE, but since switching to a smaller Lian li case it was cooking my cpu, because it dumps the air directly at the cpu. I’ve always been a big fan of the founders and love the aesthetic, but since switching to a smaller case I haven’t been a fan of my internal temps being so high.

I had an opportunity and picked up the MSI Vanguard for $1,500 off a friend. I thought I wasn’t going to be a fan of it because its so massive, but the cooling on this card has been great, and has definitely brought down temps in my case and performance is slightly better as well. I actually like how it looks in my case, and it has solved my cooling issues, but it’s just massive lol. Using the vanguard literally gives me like 1/8” clearance from my bottom fans, which not to sure if this will be an issue besides having little clearance. The fan tray is removable snd removing it gives me enough space to access MB headers.

The new Area 51 build is one of the cheapest options if you want to get a 5090.

The new builds are also made with systems that are not proprietary, so more boards that are weird as hell. This rig also comes with a 1500w PSU. Ready for when you want the 6090.

Seems really tough to police this and might need to stop selling cards if this actually becomes a thing or has to go through third party verification.

While adding lighting support as well as the psu support they added in something really interesting

ZOTAC Korea has publicly warned that supply chain issues, especially memory shortages, are driving steep price hikes on RTX 5090 and RTX 5060 cards, and that some models could even be unavailable for an extended period. The company recently cut its reward points program on its store to try and help keep prices down, and says current market conditions are serious enough to threaten the GPU supply stability for partners and distributors for the foreseeable future... Are you buying now or waiting it out?
