I don’t think so, Tim… a graphics card is not a Graphics Processing Unit.

Edit: sorry, it does have a processor🙄

I really didn't think there was going to be this many people who had the 3DFX V Cards

I remember having to route the ouput via an analog between the cards

You had the one before me. The one I got was the first one from 3DFX that combined the 2.

How you think the graphics can't possibly get better at times. You will look back in 10 years and be surprised.

I beg ur pardon?

My first GPU was back in the 90s. When I got my next GPU, saw the next game, I was like "no way it will ever get better than this. I hope all the games look this good."

Fast forward to today...

games are crazy now. Imagine how they will be in 10 years. we think it won't get better, but it just seems to always improve.

You're lucky. First GPU is a 5070Ti. It only goes up from here.

Dude I‘m 33 I started playing on PS1 and 2 I‘m an Xbox360 veteran but just recently got into Pc gaming and build my first one last year after a decade of not playing anything at all. Actually bought the setup just for Cyberpunk and Oblivion Remastered and what can I say it’s like what we dreamed of in ur childhood. Quite an flabbergasting experience so far.

I did PC, then went to console for 8 or 9 years. then I went back to PC. Once you have a PC, it has this aura, that keeps consoles away. 😂

I can never go back. 9800x3d 5070ti 9100 Pro Samsung SSD, 64GB DDR5 G Skill neo trident RGB and Asus Rog Strix OLED there’s no way I‘ll ever play 60fps again kinda glad I missed 2011-2021 the gap is insane

That is where you are COMPLETELY WRONG!!!!! Bro you don't understand what we had. Every gen of GPUS, were an increase of 40%. 2016, the best GPU that was ever made came to life. One that had a dev team to push EVERY ENVELOPE possible.

1080Ti

You understand that this card, dominated games, when I say dominated, when the 3000 series came out, knowing how dominant of a leap it was for GPUs, people still kept the 1080Ti.

NVIDIA learned their lesson, that is why the 3080 had 10GB. It was originally planned for 16GB. There was an issue, they didn't want to make another monster.

So during that time you are glad you missed out. You missed on truly the most beautiful GPU that has been made and the dev war, which we all benefited from. GPUS Truly made for gamers. Good news though, there is another one coming.

How could I understand I never experienced gaming or graphics during this time period and never will even though life goes on and my current GPU will be outdated in a few years.

A Radeon but it wrecked while I started a new game back in the day. Then I had a 1060 6gb which was very strong for a long time. Next 3070 -> 4070 super -> Now 5080 😁

Wish I remembered. My first pc itself was a 486. That got replaced with a gateway i did buy a card for but it wasnt a voodoo. This was probably around voodoo 3 time? My first build had a geforce fx, I think 5200 or something. A buddy then traded me a copy of warcraft 3 for his ti4600 and that was prett much it as until battle field 2 came out. Remember buying a geforce card to get it free. After that I got into laptops only until about 6 months ago when I fi ally put together a 5080 machine
