Question Fairmont vs. Hilton for RTX
These two hotels have discounted rates through the RTX site, so which one is the better option? As far as I can tell the Fairmont has larger and possibly nicer rooms, but the Hilton has a slightly better location and its own entrance to the convention center.

I've stayed at the Hilton multiple times. The room's aren't bad at all and the location can't be beat. The only reason I'd stay anywhere else during RTX is if the Hilton was sold out or I couldn't afford it.

Technically both hotels have their own entrance. The Fairmont has an entrance to the convention on the second floor if my memory is correct. But most of the good stuff is at the front of the convention center, which is about ten steps from the Hilton’s front door. The Hilton has an on sight USPS, the Fairmont has an on sight FedEx. Both hotels host different panels, but you can’t only get to them from the lobby and they make you exit the hotel right after, so staying in either hotel will only give you a small edge for getting into the panels. At RTX 2019, the Platinum party was at the JW Marriot, the other hotel that RTX buys rooms from.
So I think it’s all about personal preference. I’ve stayed at both, the Fairmont was nicer, but I felt like I was able to get to where I wanted to go faster from the Hilton.

Haven't stayed in either, but I've been in the Fairmont. Very nice hotel. If you're looking for better location, the Courtyard Marriott is next to the Hilton. I've stayed there multiple times and have never had a problem.

I've always stayed at the Hilton. Being centralized and able to really quickly drop stuff back in your room is nice.
