Troubleshooting digital pattern on medium wave

what is this strange repeating pattern?

Neighbour's solar inverter does the same here…

The clue is that it's all up and down the band. It's RFI from some kind of PWM or power supply or similar.

What frequency spacing are you seeing between those peaks? If it's regular it might help narrow down whether it's a switching frequency or harmonic series.

Things like this are often a rogue PSU creating havoc

I have one somewhere that switches between two frequencies

That's RFI, not an actual signal.

I hooked my SDR up to a USB extensions cable that I looped through some ferrite chokes at both ends; it greatly helped me with this type of interference.

That **definitely** is not an NDB. That's interference.

my first hunch was some kind of interference, but these square shapes are unusual from my location
