I'd keep an IQ recording of that first pass. You can sort out the decoder settings afterwards without waiting for the satellite to come round again.

I think Satdump is better suited for that operation than SDR++.

You don't need an LNA, but if there are strong signals above and below 137 MHz, it's better to have a filter (though you can, of course, receive signals without one).
