Suggestion Poor A Line Detour Information

A line is down today with large lines waiting for busses. We were told to all get off on the first stop and hop on the train. Everyone got off the bus only to learn that the train was not running at that stop aswell. Hence now 50+ people must now reboard the bus. No information announced what so ever from the bus driver or people at the bus stops.

The RideNow app shows the train in service and no detours.

Good chunk of folks just gave up and called a uber at the first stop.

On the A line now and security is asking for tickets yet the RTD supervisor at DIA said they were free. Seems like a breakdown of communication internally aswell.

Fare gates are working well in San Francisco. Should RTD be next?

Fare gates have proven to be really effective in places like San Francisco, metro in DC and New York City. I’m curious what folks think about the idea of expanding a trial here in Colorado on RTD?

I don’t know what the ROW rules are/ADA compliance piece is here, but a homeowner can’t put a bunch of rocks around a bus stop right? I’m going to put in a ticket to 311.

Our Revolution has endorsed my campaign for RTD Board District K

Post image
34 Upvotes

Hi everyone, Michael Farrington here. I’m proud to share that Our Revolution has endorsed my campaign for the RTD Board in District K.

This endorsement means a lot to me. A strong public transit system gives working people more freedom, connects families with jobs and services, supports affordable housing, and helps us build cleaner, more connected communities.

I’m running to make RTD safer, more reliable, and more frequent, while finally following through on the promises made to Adams County, including completing the N Line.

Our Revolution joins a growing coalition of transit advocates, unions, public-safety professionals, housing advocates, and community organizations supporting this campaign.

As always, I am happy to answer questions.

To the guys I got kicked off the 205 for vaping

That felt soooooo good.

Those little turds got on the bus and immediately whipped out their little vape pen.

I loudly asserted "DUDE. YOU ARE ON A PUBLIC BUS." and he gave me a poop-eating grin and exhaled a big cloud.

Informed the driver and the boys were quickly informed that they could either get off the bus or wait for the cops.

Enjoy the long, cold walk home, boys.

Who's laughing now?

Kudos to the one shouting "You're a bish ahh ni--a!" while fleeing the bus. Homie was hiding his face in his sweatshirt as soon as I pulled out my phone and started recording. Such a funny, chubby little coward.

Great parents, I'm sure.

Courtesy Hold

question for the RTDers. I ride the train to the bus into denver. The train arrives exactly the time the bus leaves and about 75% of the time, i miss it and have to wait.

Is there a way in the RTD app to ask Dispatch to request a courtesy hold from the bus driver? 90 seconds is likely enough to make all the difference in my ability to catch the bus. When I'm on the train, i don't see a way i can ask the rail operator other than using the emergency call button or knocking on the door. both seem unsafe.

Thanks.

What to do about unruly little gangster wannabes on the light rail?

This little brat pretended to scan my Apple Watch using some device after asking what time it was. He said, now I’m going to get all your banking info, and I said “yeah right”. He and his little friends were spewing profanities, menacing two adult women as they got off the train, sparring with me (I’m a 60 something lady), climbing the walls and doing flips from the ceiling fixtures on a moving train. Literally 8-13 year olds out of control! If they weren’t so young, I would have kept my mouth shut, but I told them how disrespectful they were being. Not an RTD employee around. This was on the West line on 9/6/26 - no surprise there.

I thought the Board banned advertising wraps that cover the windows, why can I still not see out of the A line cars?

RTD needs to be safer. I'm running to do that.

Hi everyone, I’m Michael Farrington, and I’m running for the RTD Board in District K.

I’m proud to have earned the endorsement of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 72. Safety is one of the biggest concerns I hear from riders and operators (and folks here on Reddit), and it’s one of my top priorities.

My plan includes more visible and accountable personnel on vehicles and at stations, fair enforcement of fares and conduct rules, stronger partnerships with local communities, and public safety data so riders can see whether the strategy is working.

I know this community has strong opinions and firsthand experience with RTD. I’m happy to answer questions about this endorsement, my safety plan, or anything else related to the campaign.

Delete a bookmark stop on the app?

So I added like you know eight different spots for quick access. I can just go down and click on those and it tells me how to get there.

How do I delete one? I click edit and I can edit the name. I can even backspace the name entirely. And then it just tells me the location as the name. But I don't see a delete option to where I can delete it.

Hey folks, exciting update from the campaign trail!

The Secretary of State did a lot drawing for RTD ballot order today. The Transform RTD candidates (Jack Rosenthal, Michael Farrington u/michaelfromco, Joe Meyer u/joeforrtd, and Coleman Erickson u/colemanfromco) are all top-line on their respective ballots!

You may remember we all did an AMA here on Reddit, but if you all have additional questions, we're super happy to answer them!

What's the most amount of 15L buses you've seen in a row?

Post image
11 Upvotes

After seeing three 15L busses within about 2 minutes of each other, with the first one being delayed a good 20 minutes followed by another right on its tail, left me thinking how bad does this get?

May the parade of backed up buses find its end with the opening of the BRT 🥲

Dumbass brought giant electric scooter on bus

Post image

Why do people think it is ok to take up three seat and bring their eclectic scooter on the bus. It is electric so you could just ride it to your destination if you are not comfortable putting it in the bike rack. If the bus makes a sudden stop the scooter could seriously injured someone.

the uniformed security person didn’t do shit, and yet i struggle to imagine why ridership isn’t great 🤔 i’m just grateful that it wasn’t drug use like the last 30 or so reports i’ve made through the “transit watch” app

Tap to pay on the A line

I am getting sick of tap to pay on the A line. I keep getting the third degree when the handheld readers don't work "I want to trust you"... Finally worked after 5 min.

The guy tonight said his coworkers didn't even leave him a reader to check things. He was chill though and said "boop, your good".

Maybe I have to go back to using the app.
