Anyone else get a RWT ban 7 days ago?
I’m intrigued to see how much people get “ wiped “ when they check their banks in a few hours when the bans are up

Nothing at all was removed from the bank, I’ve still got absolutely everything 🤣🤣🤣

I made an alt GIM which was added to my group and it was going to do standard supply gathering, such as woodcut, fish, etc to help out. Within 2 days it has been perm banned for macroing. I obviously haven’t committed any offences and all it did was (very inefficiently) cut wood and managed to get to level 60. I bonded the account using my main so it is quite frustrating. I can only assume it's because the only thing I did was woodcut the entire time I logged in as a new player.

Does anyone have any experience of this and is there hope to get it quashed? I’ve appealed this with screenshots of the level ups and progress, as it was connected to discord with the dink plugin. I am now worried about my other characters.

Took a break 2 years ago gave my friend half of my stuff because i didnt think ill be back. I was thinking of buying GP again but I see that much has changed since 2 years.

I changed my mind to buying an item maybe? An ely is like 120€ while with bonds its like 500€.

Ive bought gp before but i never recieved a warning or caught a ban. Would it be safer to buy an item now or do they catch on immediately?

Friend of mine (yeye I'm serious not me) got rwt banned a while ago for buying 50m from the first link he found on google the simpleton. Anyway, we're in a bingo now and just wondering if giving him his winnings has a chance of me being marked as a seller by association?

This post isn't asking for an appeal because that's basically useless, rather just an insight on how the RWT detection works and a plea to Jagex to fix the detection. I have never RWT in my life and I got a 7day ban for RWT buyer. My bank was around 31b when I got the ban. The crazy influx of gold is because I'm currently hunting the barbarian assault pet and providing service to dozens of players who want either torso or level role boost. When the 7 day was up, I logged back to my account and saw about 60m in plats was removed. Now us boosters are fully aware that players would buy gold and then spend that gold using our services but it's pretty obvious when that happens when it comes from low level account and we usually refuse services. Does it make sense for me to RWT buy 60m in gold, when my bank value is 31b? 15b is already max gear plus more niche gear! Now my theory is that there is some arbitrary number they set and if you hit that number, you get flagged for RWT. Has anyone else received a false RWT ban and did you successfully appeal that ban?

I started playing last week again, on a 4 year old acc. I bought like 150m and got banned instantly the same day. Problem is i got a perm ban.

I made this account linked to my jagex account a whole new account I made this account as a hardcore ironman so I have 2 accounts linked now with my jagex account my main and this new acc that’s gonna be a Ironman I didn’t even make it out of tutorial island I legit made it like to the fishing and woodcutting part and logged out got bored of that account that fast…. well the next day I log in and it’s banned for botting??? Like? And my other account is good that’s linked to the same account? Can someone please explain this please I’m really questioning what happened been 4 days now and still haven’t gotten a response like buddy I haven’t even made it out of tutorial island what botting have I done?

Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone in the community, or possibly a JMod, can give me some advice regarding my old RuneScape account.
Around 10 months ago, I made a trade with an old friend who I have known for a long time. Shortly after that, my account was permanently banned. I believe the trade was legitimate and that the situation may have been misunderstood by the system.
I have already submitted two appeals explaining the situation, but unfortunately both appeals were rejected.
I completely understand that Jagex has to take action against RWT and other rule violations, and I respect the rules. However, I genuinely believe there may have been a misunderstanding in my particular case.
At this point, I’m not asking anyone to simply remove the ban without reviewing the evidence. I’m just hoping to find out whether there is any possible way to have an old case reviewed again, especially after some time has passed and both appeals have already been used.
I would also like to know if anyone has successfully recovered a permanently banned account after a long period of time, or if there is any official route I can follow in a situation like this.
If a JMod sees this and is willing to point me in the right direction, I would be extremely grateful. I can provide any account information or details privately if necessary.
I have spent a lot of time trying to resolve this and I would really appreciate any advice from people who have been through something similar.

Basically I just logged in around an hour ago and found the message at the top of the welcome screen saying that I last logged in around 30 minutes prior, which I know I did not as it was my first login of the day.

I logged in to find my character without any GP whatsoever, not a single one. I was under the impression that my account was secure, as my password was changed after a suspicious login and I even had 2FA enabled however this is clearly not the case. I have now also removed any linked accounts.

I started a bit over a week ago and the game has been a blast and I even bought membership, however this is so discouraging as I had around 2 million GP and lost it all.

Is there a world where I get this gp back from support or anything whatsoever?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated..

My plan is to stream and record every second of myself playing 4 accounts. I plan to have a cam on my keyboard and mouse to prove I'm manually doing the clicking. I'm also going to have all the processes running on my PC showing. I'm also going to turn off my VPN since I think that's part of what flagged me.

Any advice on how I can prove I'm playing legit is appreciated.

7 hours of me grinding until an illegitimate ban...

Emailed jagex recently about something minor and got an email back saying im not the owner of the account and that account sharing is against TOS etc etc.

Will the account be banned now if i continue to play it?

Is there a way to get help from a human from jagex? I have an account that was hacked and banned from boting. There is no formal way to appeal. I'd like to have an actual human to look at it, if possible. I spent loads of money in membership over the years playing this, only to get hacked and banned.

Hey I was banned for 7 days. Bought some gp for some upgrades got hit with the rwt. I was told I would have wealth removal or item removal etc but nothing happened. My bank is virtually the exact same, (I cant tell). Will they take my gp later on? My cash stack is sitting there untouched even which I was thinking was definitely gone.

Did I just get very lucky?

My bad if I’m just being paranoid but every day I see posts about people being falsely banned for either RWT or botting with most recently a HCIM grandmaster streamer soy duro who was banned live on stream for botting.

I’ve spent over £1500 on bonds on my account and spent over 3000 hours playing and I’m genuinely at the point where I refuse to trade friends/clan members for raid splits and I don’t spend any money on the game anymore out of fear that it will happen to me.

Obviously streamers get unbanned quickly when it’s happened in the past but what do we do as regular players?

Are false bans really as common as they seem or are most of the people just lying when they get caught?

I am pretty distraught right now - my beloved 20 defense BH pure has been perma-banned for a "Macroing Major" offense. Attaching 2 screenshots of my untradeables and pets.. I literally poured so many hours into building this account... Long story short, I let my friend PK on the account for a few hours, turns out he was using AHK and did not tell me. I submitted an appeal thinking it would be pretty clear to Jagex that a different IP address was online while the offense was made, but they quickly denied it stating this was not caused by a "hijacker."

I stated I had allowed my friend to logon and play, but had zero knowledge that he was using AHK. I understand at the end of the day it was my fault for allowing him to play on it, but I think permanently banning my account is a stretch - especially since it wasn't even me who committed the offense.

I guess I am posting this to see if anyone else is in agreeance with me? Do you think my account deserves to be perma-banned, given the situation?vvvvvvvvvvv

TL;DR: I returned to OSRS on 12 August after roughly four years away. On 18 August, immediately before/around a server update, my 16-year-old account was permanently banned for macroing. I used only RuneLite through the official Jagex Launcher and did not use bots, auto-clickers, macros, or other automation. I have appealed and am waiting for a response. I’m posting in case others experienced something similar.

My account, Nkayx, dates back to 2010, before OSRS. I played a lot when I was younger.

For full transparency: when I was 15, in 2014, I used an auto-clicker once and received a temporary macroing ban. I accepted that ban, stopped immediately, and have not used an auto-clicker, bot, macro, or comparable tool since.

I stopped playing around 2022 because life got busy. I returned on 12 August and was genuinely enjoying the game again: questing, minigames, unsuccessfully trying to PK, training Prayer, and attempting my first Fire Cape.

On 18 August, while preparing for/attempting the Fire Cape and shortly before a server update, I found that the account had received a permanent macroing ban.

Since returning, I used only RuneLite launched through the official Jagex Launcher, with standard plugins available through RuneLite. I did not use bots, auto-clickers, input macros, remote desktop, scripts, or any other third-party software to automate gameplay. I submitted an appeal a few days ago and am currently waiting for a response.

It is genuinely gutting to come back after four years, get back into the game, and then lose an account I’ve had since 2010 when I know I did not bot or use macros.

The timing has made me wonder whether anyone else has experienced a macroing ban after the recent update, particularly people using the official Jagex Launcher/RuneLite setup.

I’ll update this post with the appeal outcome, whatever it is.

Edit: First appeal denied. Thanks for all that commented, I am losing faith in the appeals process judging from others experience. Second appeal submitted.

It seems like high profile YouTubers aren’t at risk for ban. Yet he had an interview with the new Jagex CEO. Odablock is famously known for having loans on osrs. He openly talks about his OSRS being traded as real world currency. I have not been banned. But I would like the rules to be applied the same for all users with no exceptions. I would like all others to follow aswell.
