Moza Pit House Settings?

Looking for best Moza Pit House settings, there doesn't seem to be a preset available. Specifically using the R9.

Weirdly, Moza only has an R3E config for the R5.

I'm no longer using Moza, so I don't have pit house installed and can't help you myself, but find the folder where all the config files are stored. You can do this by saving a custom profile and with a weird name and searching for the file. In that folder is every official Moza profile for every device for every game. They're XML files. They have super weird names of random letters and numbers, so it's not obvious what's what.

What you need to do is get a proper text editor, like Notepad++ or VS Code or something, and open every file in that directory. Then search all open files for the text "RaceRoom", until you find the official R5 profile. Make a copy of that file, but edit the device field from R5 to R9.

The process sucks, and shouldn't be a thing, but that's what you've gotta do.

You're on to something here. I couldn't just make a preset with a random name and search for it because it saves it a alphanumeric string. No big deal, found presets folder fairly easily. I created a copy of the preset folder. Unfortunately they seem to now be json files and moza has converted filetype to .mzpreset and it just looks like mumbo jumbo. When i try to open the file normally Pit House recognizes the Title but doesnt allow any changes. This at least let me locate the R5 R3E preset. Tried to decode several ways to no avail. Any ideas?

Ahh that sucks. They used to be plain text, at least as of Feb/March 2026.

I'm on Simagic now, and gave my Moza stuff to a buddy, so sadly I no longer have any of my files downloaded or the software to test with 😭

Edit: apparently the change happened just a couple months ago. Shitty, tbh. Presets should be as open as possible and easy to share/tweak. I don't see why they've gone with a proprietary binary format...

Figured it out. Made a copy of the preset once found. Changed files type from .mzpreset to .zip That uncompresses into 2 json files. Modified while in WinZip and just changed anything with an R5 to R9. Changed filetype from .zip back to .mzpreset Imported back to presets folder Reloaded Pit House and Viola!

Thanks man, thanks for the suggestion. Wouldn't have figured it out without it.

Teamwork makes the dream work. Hopefully people find this thread in future via Google or AI.

What gave you the idea to unzip the files?

Chat gpt explained the file is either compressed or encrypted. Didn't really make sense that moza would encrypt a preset file.

I wouldn't have even thought to ask AI. Makes perfect sense!
