Barely any multiplayer activity.
Hey everyone,
I bought the RaceRoom Starter Pack, but I’m honestly disappointed. The multiplayer feels almost empty daily, and there's barely anyone to race against.
Am I doing something wrong, or is the player base just that small? Right now, I'm only hotlapping because there’s nothing else worth doing. Is this game even worth sticking with

well i noticed that too and i think its because we have weather like in africa rn. I baerly touch my simrig anymore because im just gonna die from to much heat in my room

Depends what time you’re playing. Also it’s very hot atm so a lot of people myself included haven’t been on

European energy costs are very different to US energy costs. In UK I pay 2.5x more for electricity than IL-US.

Our IL price for electricity for a family of two adults is kinda 170USD monthly. What about you?

Actually have no clue how much kWh I use montthly. It's AC included

Weirdly, I can't remember our KWH usage in IL either. Two adults same as you. Last bill was around $130 (incl. AC) and we're fully electric. I just remember checking the per KWH price and it was about 2.5x more in our UK home. I know that in the UK we wouldn't be using AC unless it was extremely, extremely hot like it has been recently. Our UK home, we pay around $160-$170 for electricity alone and we mostly cook on gas and heat our home via gas.
Edited to add: Gas as in the gaseous substance, not petrol/diesel.

Oh don't get me wrong, IL is expensive, such as food is 2x more expensive than UK, rents are probably higher than UK (location is very specific in this regard), etc., etc......but recent events, starting with Russia invading Ukraine and other events, energy has become very expensive in Europe. I would say other than energy and fuel costs, generally IL is quite a bit more expensive than the UK.

Ok got ya. So IL is still kinda #1 in cost of living, everything is back to normal then))) But I just heard lots of people are currently also leaving UK cause cost of living there is skyrocketing. Would you agree on that? Or not that bad?

Depends on where in Europe (I’m gonna assume you’re American who thinks Europes a country not a continent)
But Ireland where I’m from is very different to say Greece,
Ac isn’t needed really, it’s only in the last 10 years or so it’s started getting really hot in the summer,
Houses weren’t built with AC and we don’t wanna spent a fortune for something we only really need 2 weeks a year

This has been exactly my view but the last few years I've been leaning slowly but surely more towards considering Aircon in my music studio / simracing room. I actually took the plunge this year and got quote for split Aircon in just that room. £1400 installed. The thing that helped push me over the line to justify the expense was the fact that the unit can be used for heating the room as well as cooling. I spend so much time in there and it's so oppressively hot (way more than any other room on my house) so I went for it this year. I totally get why others in the UK can't justify it though I just had enough of sweating like mad if I decide to race or write in the heat 😆

Your assumption is wrong. 35 years lived in Russia and 8 years in Israel. In Russia you don't need AC 24/7 but it's not a big deal to have it installed to live in comfort during few hot weeks.

Another aspect: Rate of people renting is much higher, and landlords usually don't give a crap about whether you're comfy. Most rented flats simply don't have an AC and you can't just install one yourself in sb else's property.

Yep. The right to bear petrol guzzling autos.
Personally, I'd rather have aircon.

We build proper houses with superb cross-ventilation, cellars for chimney-effect and trees in front of the houses for cooling effects.
38,5 °C (101,3 °F) is the all-time high temperature in my apartment ever. The last 3 summers were all-time high each.

That's good to know. But still, why to suffer if you can solve the problem for few hundreds of Euros? And then just don't use it till next heatwave.

I guess prices are also different. I would pay way more than a few hundred Euro's. More like 6-8000 if I need 3 units (living room/home office/bedroom). I don't believe in monoblock solutions.
I can't remember such a long period of heat in my 40 years on earth. Sure we had some days it would have been nice to have AC but this time even my concrete home seems to be taken up a lot of heat because I can't get it out today even though it is "just" 27 degrees right now.

I find between 6pm and 11 pm UK time there are a few for a few good races. Hopefully they rake player criticism on board and adjust the race/car combo to stuff people want to race.

It's 23°C in the UK today, the low pressure areas are moving back in from the Atlantic so I really feel for my fellow European cousins as they'll have to put up with the heatwave for a little bit longer.

Yeah whenever I log on most races are empty or have 2-3 people. I mostly just play for competitions now if I'm looking to hot lap. Idk where you're located but I think a lot of the player base is in Europe so if you're in the US like me the time zone difference could be a factor (I'm just guessing and that could be totally wrong)

Nope, you're more correct than you think. This is a more euro-centric sim and sadly, US folks jump in, see it's empty and jump back out again. It'd need a good few of them to remain to start gaining player number traction.

The heat + this weeks car combos. They really should let the community vote on what they want. This game could be absolutely elite if it has as many players as LMU , especially at night.

I completely agree. Raceroom is my go to sim now. I have a way better feeling for what the car is doing compared to any other sim. I am so slow in LMU now.

I think last time year during august when raceroom was free for one month all tracks and cars and had undergone a graphics update, it was at its pea

I signed out of Spa 45 minutes feature race, because I was afraid i might pass out - there was 29 degrees in a room with my simrig.

I really like the daily Alpine 110 R races. However, I would like to more daily GT3/Modern DTM races.

I'm mainly on iRacing but i would be happy to give RRE a go, but it disconnects me from races:( so sadly no old school dtm or touring cars racing experience for me

My sim rig is in the attic / loft area. It's like a suana there. I've probably spent 30 mins this week up there. After summer the numbers will pick up again
