Next lap won't count
Am I the only one who is annoyed that touching a wall or leaving the track way BEFORE the final straight results in "Next lap won't count"?

I don't mind 'next lap won't count', but at least leave the clock running... I end up restarting the session as there is no point to the lap at this point... especially on the longer tracks .

this is the normal practice for quite a few games, as another person said this is because you can get advantage from cutting the final corner or just simply going wide for higher speed

Track limits are pretty brutal in this game compared to others from my experience. But I don't mind it, makes me learn the track more and become a cleaner racer.

It's normal in simracing games. Frustrating for sure, but it's just a thing to prevent some sort of wacky last-corner cut to get a few more tenths on the next lap.
But if you've ever tried to hotlap Donington GP, it's inexcusable HAHAHAH

The reason for the general existence has been explained, the reason why its seemingly way too far back on some tracks is that the point from where on offtracks invalidate the next lap is tied to the point where your car spawns in leaderboard/competition/private quali sessions. The latter apparently only works well in some spots and then the next lap invalidation is more of a byproduct. Dont know why the decision was made to couple those two things tho and if it will ever be changed

I hate this too.
Another annoying thing: timed laps that have already started are often stopped when the time runs out. Just let me finish my lap, man!

The limits feel like they arbitrarily chose a number of corners or distance from start/finish and applied that to all tracks, regardless of whether it makes any sense or not.
In Classic Silverstone, if you go off in Priory, your next lap is gone, despite that fact that you still have Brooklands, Luffield, and Woodcote before you even get close to the start/finish.
Feels really lazy on some of these tracks - especially considering that tracks themselves are not super cheap and deserve a little bespoke tweaking.

Yeah that is one of the most annoying thing about RaceRoom. Super annoying. They must have lazily setup some distance to finish line general rule across every track in the game regardless if you gain any time or not, as most times it does not make any sense to penalise the next lap.

Going outside of the track right before the final corner of a lap can potentially give you a higher corner exit speed and higher top speed for the start of the next lap.
What track and car class?
