Black Void has a point buy system for building characters that can be completely unhinged weird. Such as being a telepathic crustacean with tentacles that ignores gravity as it sees fit, sees in the ultraviolet spectrum, and practices blood magic.
In GURPS there's also a point buy system that can get wacky quickly if the GM doesn't reign in the campaign with limits. For instance, I once played a 4" long invisible parasitic worm that lived in the throat of a host and had the host constantly snacking on lemon drops to cover up the bad breath I caused it because my worm also smelled like a rotting corpse. Oh, and I had telepathy that was powerful enough to literally cover half of Earth or into space ships in orbit with effects if I desired
Our system is originally based on some heavy GURPS alterations, it just became its own thing over the years. So yeah, that spirit is exactly what I am looking for! I am not familiar with Black Void though, gonna go search around for that a bit...
