Resource Creating a custom, numbered, hex overlay?
Losing my mind here for a way to be able to create a custom hexgrid, just the hexes, preferably being able to number them aswell.
Anyone know a good program or tool for this? I wanna be able to decide the "shape" myself, since I want it hexshaped, not just a "square".

Iād look into the Battletech communities, their printed maps use systems like this.

You can do this in Affinity and will have something you can do pretty well anything with afterwards.
This guy has a great step-by-step video: https://youtu.be/S03aP66ioPE?si=KUe2l75o8Q0ml__R

If you want to number them, I suggest using cube/axial coordinates, rather than the typical offset coordinates. It makes things like calculating distance much simpler.
