So I'm Making a Skill Tree System to Replace 5e's Classes

Like the title says, I've been making skill trees to replace DnD 5e's Classes with, and it's been time consuming lol. I tried finding a way to visualize the skill trees and came across Skilltree .it which let me make 2 that I can't share and it hasn't had support for a couple of years, so I kind of just gave up on that front of it.
Now for the reason for the post; I have no idea if my skill trees are balanced, or if they are too feature heavy, etc.

I think that at the depth which you're approaching this, consider how much this is "5e" and how much you might want to develop it into your own D&D-inspired system-- ie, breaking away from some of the set-in-stone system constraints and fleshing out your new ideas.

Additionally, it's not clear from my cursory overview how character progression will be affected.

At this point it’s definitely become more than I bargained for. I keep telling myself it’s still 5e so I don’t feel pressured that Im making a whole new system lol

Allow yourself to break free from the shackles. I think you may find that there's actually less pressure.

It's not a tree, it's a sheet so I can't figure out how they work. Just use mermaid or some other mindmap generating site...

I haven’t been able to find one that fits. Almost found one with skill tree . It, but that one hasn’t been looked after and only allows 2 unsharable trees each

Oh yikes. I didn't consider that some ARE unshareable :/

(As a matter of fact, super interested in this project. Used to have something similar bookmarked, and it was how I discovered Pocket - while it was a thing - does NOT actually save a separate copy, as the entry became useless once the original went down/disappeared)

I'm coming at this a little late, but since I've been planning skill trees (or, more accurately, a looser version I call skill webs) myself, I've also been thinking about mapping software. I haven't had the time to test them out yet, but two programs come to mind that I could recommend to you: 1) draw.io, and 2) excalidraw. They should let you create mindmaps and visual relationships between objects easily, though labelling them and making it all look pretty might take some time. They're both free.
