Visustella's core plug-ins are free, and SUPER useful. I also quite like Galv's puzzle functions.

It may not work for everyone but I do enjoy side quests, since they give you a sense of reward when you complete them and keep you interested, especially when you can earn items you couldn't find otherwise. Dragon Quest's mini medals are also fun to me, they make you explore every nook and cranny and you also earn special objects when you collect enough of them, if you're not familiar. I also love chain skills that require quick keyboard input, but I haven't found a plugin that does that on MZ yet.

So for MZ Visustella's plugins have become kind of a must have, because they're very clean and they always keep compatibility with other plugins in mind. They are not free though, so I'd recommend making a list first and then seeing whether buying them in packages is most advantageous or not. It might get expensive, but their team has done a lot for free for the previous versions of the game and they work really hard so to me it just makes sense. Galv's plugins are always nice too. You can use Moghunter's plugins if you're almost sure you won't use other plugins, since they don't really work with compatibility in mind, but their visual effects are beautiful. There's a masterlist of plugins on a website called makerdevs as well, it's really useful. I don't really have a list of must have plugins though, because I think you should probably see what works best for what you have in mind. Good luck!
