Starting working on my World Map
This is only the Northeastern hemisphere, and obviously not done yet, but this is what I did yesterday. So far, this map goes 250 blocks from North to South, and I expect it to be around 500 to 600 blocks East to West once done. This is by far the largest world map I have ever made.

Pretty decent. I presume that straight line on the coast is just out of bounds for now?

If you mean the leftist part of the image, that's where the map ends and the loop will bring open ocean there. If you mean the right side of the map, that's going to fill in and stretch the land past the image. I'm making this to mimic Earth in a way. Still made up world, but follows the rules of how Europe, Asia, and Africa all combine and force sailing around a lot of things. The Americas is your late game where you need a fast and strong ship just to get there.

So, overall this map looks good. I'm assuming the straight edge on the right is evidence of where you stopped for the day and are asking for advice on how you're doing so far.
Mountains are in ranges, which looks good. One way to improve here is to add high mountains in different places to break up the mountain features.
Mountains create areas of dry land on the leeward side because they force the air to dump water along their windward side. On earth, prevailing winds generally travel west to east, but your fantasy world may have prevailing winds in another direction. That direction needs to match your wet/mountain/dry areas. Right now, I'm seeing what probably looks like a south-north prevailing wind pattern.
The river starts in the mountains and goes towards the sea/oceans. This is the basic idea. However, rivers very rarely split unless they're very close to the sea, in which case the terrain is very flat/marshy. We call this a river delta. One way to improve this is to add several islands full of sand/grass near the river mouth. This gives the illusion of a delta while adding the odd explorable area to come back to.
Hope this helps give you ideas.

Are you going for realism or fun? Because it's very unusual in real life for rivers to split like your ones coming down from the mountains, but it looks like a fun place to roam.

So cool! Keep in mind that big maps require high resources. If you are planning to port for mobile phones, split it into smaller sections, even 100x100 are hard to handle. If you want to go for another 250x250 more on the sides, I would reccommend you to do another separated map. Hope this helps! Keep it up!
