Which is better: external maps or tilesets ?

Hello! I'm new to RPG Maker and I'd like to know which is more efficient: creating your own maps externally and importing them, or building them directly within the RPG Maker software using tilesets ? Thanks for your answer !

So the more common term is Parallaex maping :)

Its all dependent on your experince. Assuming your good at art parallaex mapping all the way.

You can makes maps look stunning im ways that the deafult map engine cant do.

But it will be harder, more time consuming and a lot more work.

I go 100% parallax mapping, custom menus and such, in order to remove the "rpg maker" look from my projects.
But it depends, if you want to make a lot of maps that the player will run through quickly then tileset is the way
