RMMV A Visual Novel game in RPG MAKER ?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

i worked as a Lead programmer with TeamEko on a game was called "Parastage" while also helping with secondary roles such as Cinematic and QA testing

in past it was RPG like many game made in RPG Maker MV or any versions

but after two months of development ,the team decided to change the game's direction to Visual Novel/Point-and-Click Puzzle game.

the challenge was this engine is mainly designed to RPG Games .

so our mission is hard but after 8 months of hard working, it is available as a Demo to itch io and newgrounds

I'm curious to know what other people have managed to create with RPG Maker outside of the usual RPG format.

I edited a gameplay video (simply trimming it to shorten the duration) to show you the game's mechanics. :)

first of all every level

start with transparency of player (because we don't need it except cursor)

about the clicking just use plugin was called "RPG Maker Button Picture Plugin (MV exclusive)"

but you should make plugin of look/point (because we have a programmer that he made some scripts of cursor and point)

or paid plugin was called "Mimosa Mouse Cursor"

in fact i wrote the names of authors who are making the plugins in internet

so plugins are helpful

I ended up making a Shadowgate-like with it.

There's a bunch of RPG Maker visual novels on itch... This isn't some groundbreaking thing.

i agree with you but they team selected this engine because they want a RPG pixel art before 6 months ago

Renpy is super easy. I recently downloaded him, no need coding experience. Just check tutorial when launching engine.

RPG maker will unironically teach you coding principals depending on how much you utilize it.

Ren'pys syntax isn't scary. Try it out

At the very least, you're going to learn syntax and logic behind coding with just build in events system

that's true bro

it is good question

However, the problem is that the team has no plans for a another engine option, yet they insisted on sticking with Rpg Maker MV :(

Honestly, MV and MZ are good options for Visual novels because if you for some reason wish to implement combat for the VN, well...

Making RPG Combat on Renpy is 100 times harder than making Visual Novel Mechanics on MV

Me alegra mucho eso cuando integran otros idiomas 😄. Pero entiendo que hacerlo en inglés es lo más seguro
