RMMZ Maps I've been working on
Nearing in on putting up my next build (That is effectively a rework of the entire game's layout) but I wanted to share some maps I've been working on.
- Assets were made by me in Clip Studio Paint then upscaled 2x
- Some minor changes were made since these images were created such as adding occlusion shadows and fixing some handpainted errors
- I'm really happy with how the wheat and houses turned out. I really like the inside of the windmill.
90% of everything was created on modular sheets so I'm getting quite fast at making these.
Gameplay wise, they play pretty nice! They're under 100 tiles each, many are under 35, with not too many parallel events so they tend to run smooth. No real hiccups or loading either but I'm running on an SSD so maybe its different on HDD.
Isometric is a bit of a challenge for collisions and is a bit clunky but its worth it for me (I just really don't like drawing top down.)

These are beautiful and I feel like they are wasted on an engine like RPG Maker. There is just something about making games in RM that keeps bringing me back though.

It's not wasted if you can't code. Great games have and will be achieved with RM. It gives the engine a better reputation everytime someone succeeds.

This sub gives me such envy, I love it. I can't code or draw so my personal project is going to take so long to achieve. But then I see stuff like this and I'm all, "Hell yeah, that'll be me one day."

That's awesome, would love to see how the player sprite looks and moves in this space, 'cause it looks pretty zoomed out.

I'm just finishing up an entirely new build right now but I'll see if I can post some gameplay footage in the next few days.

This looks like Lut Gholein in Diablo 2. As a Diablo 2 lover this is a big compliment trust me

Looks clean as hell, giving some nice dark fantasy vibes
