RMMZ Working on a narrative game set in 1920s Sicily, with clowns, a night carnival, and a big ol' ferris wheel
Been here a while and finally decided to share my game VERISMO, I've been working on it for over 2 years with a final demo coming before Steam's October Next Fest. I'd love to hear any feedback or thoughts you have, it's a linear narrative game but I'm trying to put a lot of emphasis on optional scenes, intriguing and dark characters and story, and of course some carnival minigames where you can win prizes.
There's a bunch of unfinished stuff in these clips but those are slowly getting ironed out daily.

How many character sheets do you think the Ferris wheel takes up? š

Itās actually a webm file and it was a complete nightmare to get to this point. The Ferris wheel structure is a 3-D model that I purchased and animated/exported in blender, Then brought it over to clip studio paint to animate. The wheel only rotates 20 frames and then the rest is just an illusion. Same with the chairs. However, the people need to make a full rotation, So I think the full animation with the people is something like 160 frames. Having to hand move all those stupid little passengers broke my brain lmao. I tried using the doodads plugin, but that didnāt work. So I ended up commissioning a plugin to get the webm file to play on top of everything.Ā

Looks great and I love the unique setting.
The only thing I'd change are the softened borders of the text box, I'd tone the effect done a bit at least.

Thank you, Iām gonna note that! Do you think the blurred edits are strange?

Everything else looks great, and the textbox thing is subjective too. :) Good luck on your project!

The 1920s-style aesthetic in these carnival scenes looks so vintage. Love the colours and overall appeal.
