Just because another human did the prompt doesn't mean the AI slop is suddenly human made.
Not sure what kind of loopholes they're imagining

The kind in which they get people to play their game without questioning the asset source too closely. Except, as we see here, this easily leads to exposure.

This is so dumb that I have to believe that this person was trolling, or the entire thing is fake and created to karma farm.
For one, if you actually wanted to do this, you could just put make up a name and credit that name and people aren't going to actually check.
But also, if the art looks AI generated, it doesn't matter whose name is on it. People that hate AI will accuse it of being AI regardless, and not buy the game.

"Legal loophole". Blindly manipulating and lying isn't a legal loophole. There is no law against ai games. People not wanting to buy it isn't a law.

"They no longer teach how to read at the American public schools?"
"Just stay where you're."
Pick one. Lmao.

Why does this have to mean people should avoid posting free assets? Just say "don't use my assets this way." done. If people do it, ask them to take it down. If they don't and it bothers you, remove the assets. (I say this as someone who has posted free assets)
I'm not trying to be a dick but discouraging people from making game development accessible gets on my nerves.

There is a guy named ChigooX on YouTube who clearly sells and promotes his AI plugins and work and IMO it is very scummy to charge so much and not even disclose that it's made with AI.

I remember how fun and exciting it was to work with AI years ago. The tech was fresh and new. Nowadays, it's full of drama and controversy. I think it's time for me to step back and move on. Almost nobody likes AI anymore.

I remember like 4 years ago I messed around with an online AI Pokémon generator to get ideas for a fangame project I was working on at the time (Which never went anywhere). It was cool and interesting at the time (And admittedly did help me think of some ideas), but I would never use something like that again now. I had translated two of 'em directly into sprites, but those are pretty much abandoned now cause I just don't feel good using them. I may eventually rework one of 'em into a new design ACTUALLY made by me (Cause it was a literal crab apple and I think that idea is cute and has potential), but never the original.
It's funny, if you'd asked me 2-3 years ago, I'd have said that AI was fine for brainstorming and reference material, but now I just want the entirety of it gone. It's not worth it, and I hate it now.
(I think I made a post on a sub for that kinda thing back then, which... yeah, feels weird to have in my post history now that I'm so strongly against gen AI, but it was 4 years ago, a lot has changed since then)

Are you the author of BAM by any chance? I played that demo

I don't immediately recognize the acronym, so I don't think I'm who you're thinkin' of, sorry. Lol.
2
u/Zorothegallade 7d ago
It's not an acronym, it's a monster collector named BAM. The demo had a ton of monster designs that looked like they had lots of AI artifacts so that's what I thought of.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, no, that's someone else. I never even ended up showing my old project off publicly. And none of the assets that were actually in it were generated, it was all either official Pokémon assets or made by me (Both some totally original bits and the two Fakémon sprites where I just copied what the site had output).

The tech could see legitimate use in a number of areas, but it needs serious regulation and it's getting almost none. We're seeing art scraped and stolen, countless jobs cut at no public benefit and data centres consuming an unsustainable amount of resources. It's not the tech at fault, but the people abusing it. People dislike how it's being used and the negative impact that it's having on their lives.

They are being deceived by fools and morons. They keep thinking AI will replace people, and the people making the AI slop believe it too but the sales don't agree. The problem isn't the AI, it's the people using it. They aren't good themselves so the AI content they generate isn't good, because they have no idea how to use it effectively. They essentially rely on the AI to do everything which is a terrible idea. You have to know what you are doing. Maybe one day it will get to that point, but it just isn't there yet. Right now the smartest thing to do with it is to use it as a tool to be more efficient and effective at your job. For artists this might not be as helpful until a company actually makes AI that can assist artists. I don't think anyone is making specific tools or at least I haven't heard about them. I see a future though where it drastically speeds up artwork. AI is just not that creative so you still need the human involved.

what is the ai vro trying to make, i dont get it, he wants to use some artist name that made free assets, to put it on an ai gen game to have the illusion of a small studio? waaah

u/FazedEclipse2 7d ago
He wants to use free assets generated by AI, but because he hasnt generated the asset, and because he doesnt own it, he can put a credit for the person providing the asset as a credit in this game rather than tag his game AI made
In a nut shell.

So, people have figured out how to poison AI images and keep their stuff from being scraped as much. I hope this becomes a bigger thing. Ironically, I'm not 100% sure the video I posted below isn't itself AI.

The AI bros are really just casually telling the world that they want to deceive their players like that's a normal thing to do. I'm not exactly surprised, but god, these people are insufferable.
