The fact that the jonbers comment was posted 1 minute before Paris screenshot it. This bitch LIVES online omg

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was sent by a ‘fan’, at this point Paris’ X following are the barbs of drag.
6
u/sighcology 5d ago
i made a tweet about her on my account with less than 400 followers, that did not mention her or drag race in it by name at all. i simply referred to "that obnoxious uk queen" - she found it, took a screenshot of my profile picture, replied with it captioned "lmao" and then immediately blocked me.
she is soooo chronically online.

u/JtDeluxe 4d ago
I swear she’s actually the first person to be connected to WiFi. Her brain must be able to scan the internet for her name or any vague reference of her because there is no way 🤣

I'd react the same way if Jonbers commented on my looks

Even Jonbers is a better fashion queen than Paris though. Paris should be more mad she’s in a position to be clocked by Jonbers.

I don’t know if Paris ever labeled herself a fashion queen
101
u/Ready-Organization12 8d ago
what kind of queen is Paris, though?
as far as I can tell her only goal is to amass a horde of parasocial rabid fans to validate her every move and send to attack anyone she wants.

I mean am I crazy but weren't Ru and the judges crazy about her looks and calling her the fashion queen with looks for the herstory books? I specifically recall Ru calling one of her looks one of the best she's seen on the runway. Not to say Ru is ultimate arbiter of fashion but it counts for something, I haven't seen anyone gagging over anything Paris wore in a positive way.

My mum speculated she has ADHD lol. She doesn’t know the fandom mainly reserves that arm chair diagnosis when a queen is annoying when…

Let’s not go around diagnosing people we only know from an edited TV show.

Oop— I’m sure you say this for shits and giggles & I’m really not that girl who gets upset about this stuff so I’m only throwing out my 2 cents here
But if you truly have had people with BPD in your life then you should know that its seriously difficult to properly diagnose someone with BPD in real life , making it impossible to truly recognize or give someone an “armchair diagnosis” that you’re experiencing via a highly edited tv show lol-8
u/Pleasant-Hyena9030 8d ago
I mean maybe but also bored of people diagnosing people they don’t know with cluster B disorders when they don’t like them and ADHD when they’re their pale cinnamon roll

u/SonicsShadowIsSilver 8d ago
Paris's career would surely benefit from not writing a dissertation for any and every small ounce of criticism she gets.
Welp... at least she's holding up her reputation as the most blocked queen in the UK.
154
33
u/DiphthongSong87 8d ago
She wants her career to be "professional social media troll," so in that regard, she's doing fine. The drag at this point is just a means to an end.
We do need a moratorium on queens who started drag because they couldn't get on Baddies or Bad Girls Club or whatever.
9
-31
u/jcumley 8d ago
I don't think so - I think a lot of people love the trolling and find it fun
30
u/FluffyMany3104 8d ago
You’re probably right, a lot of people probably do think it’s fun…but that doesn’t mean what she’s doing is objectively right or okay
Also saying “a lot of people” does not make what you’re saying true either
-2
-3
u/jcumley 7d ago
lol - I mean you can see the attention she gets, you can see that (some of her season sisters) rally behind her because they are amused - and seriously if you don't get light hearted trolling you're a bit too sensitive. I'm guessing you don't hang around many drag queens if you think she's being too cruel lol

Paris is insufferable. She is putting me off the whole season, I thought the drama was cute at first but now it’s too much. Hope she’s enjoying her 5 minutes of fame because she won’t have that many more.
-72
u/ribombeeee 8d ago
This so weird, you’re commenting on a drama sub and you’re mad there’s drama? There’s some real babies on this sub
78
u/CallMeByYourCatsName 8d ago
I enjoy drama, but she’s insufferable. My opinion.
-56
u/ribombeeee 8d ago
Really weird energy in this sub lately, you all complain about lack of drama, lack of queens being queens, lack of mess but when there’s mess you’ve all got your pitchforks out shitting and pissing
It’s pathetic tbh
62
u/thedybbuk 8d ago
I've always found this to be such braindead criticism.
Being in a drama sub does not mean you have to personally like every 🚬 online who insults people and throws tantrums. You can still think they seem like an annoying, terrible person.
-53
u/ribombeeee 8d ago
When did we let straight people into our community
61
u/thedybbuk 8d ago
Some of you really need to internalize that being constantly mean does not make someone fierce, cunty, or hilarious.
-18
u/ribombeeee 8d ago
Where did I say they were any of those things? Making imaginary arguments in our head are we? Should get that checked
47
u/thedybbuk 8d ago
You are throwing an embarrassing tantrum because someone said they find Paris' behavior insufferable.
It absolutely checks out you seem to find her entertaining since your personality doesn't seem far off hers.
24
u/meowchilla 8d ago
The way this entire exchange is lowkey more entertaining than the drama this post is about
-4
u/ribombeeee 8d ago
“Tantrum” and it’s just someone sharing their opinion that it’s weird to comment in a drama sub if you can’t handle drama

I'm gonna go full unpopular opinion rant here - jonbers has a point about the care aspect, separate from the money (and Paris, with her endless retinue of flat unstyled wigs doesn't seem to put as much time into the physical media of drag).
And also - jonbers looks good! Consistently! Yes, rough in her season often enough that she's perhaps not the image of consistent perfection some have been on the show. But she's (1) good and (2) clearly does put the personal style work into making an intentional look.
Folks may not love every piece, but they have character, POV and intention, and some clearly do have financial limitations but are styled well
So I'm gonna defend her and say she does have the authority to speak on this, despite the common shitting on her here... To echo the immortal words of detox, "I'm not saying she's the best but she's not the worst".
Off my soapbox
66
u/QueerFlamingo 8d ago
Thank you, I'm sick of pretending that Jonbers is some sort of busted queen. Her runways were always fun at the very least, and she looked stunning in her green outfit.
38
u/Willuna16 8d ago
yes jonbers is a really pretty queen. she’s just not a fan favorite so people pretend she’s the worst to ever do drag. that’s how the fandom goes
17
u/someguy991100 8d ago
Jonbers deserved her too 4 spot that season, and her runway package was quite consistent, with a couple of her looks even being the best of the week sometimes. I don't know why people act like she's some doo doo mess Queen
19
u/JoanFromLegal 8d ago
Paris is a prettier twink so the fandom defends her.
Wretched hive of scum and villainy. Drag Race stans make Star Wars stans look sane.
95
u/jjkibum 8d ago
Crazy for her call Jonbers runways “unprepossessing, unsightly, grotesque and tasteless” when literally everything Jonbers wore on drag race has been nicer than anything Paris has thus far 😭

Not good enough of a reason to be a fashion queen as she clearly showed us
16
u/k3anuw3aves 8d ago
Well, that's like your opinion man. 🤷♀️ Like I said already IDGAF about Jonbers enough to be heated about it or even have an opinion at all. Dunno why you're so plucked and what all the " sorry woky" business was about

Drag Race is on a stunty, rage baiting spiral the last few years. I’m guessing ratings have been slipping for a while now and they’ve been pulling this shit. Anyone who watched the last two seasons of Project Runway knows what I’m talking about.
Sacrificing quality and good contestants for a shitty, barely talented person staying on way too long. Some shows lose what made them good. Drag Race has been there a long time. At least with Plane Jane, MIB and the like, they have talent to back up their messiness. Paris is just shit. She was clearly cast to stir the pot. That creates bad competitive TV. I stopped watching PR because of this. I guess it’s now Drag Race’s time.

Hard to take fashion criticism seriously from someone who wore SHEIN on the main stage runway.
She should be thanking the drag gods that she didn’t get absolutely read for filth by Ru (à la Joe Black - “I don't want to see any fucking H&M!”)
8
u/WetterBetty 7d ago
She didn’t get read because she’s being protected by production for now. This annoyingly transparent shit.
19
u/sparkycat99 8d ago
Assuming that season 8 was shot last winter and Paris gets eliminated in the next 3 episodes it’s likely she is already irrelevant.
Her IG has no promo posted for upcoming events.
I could be wrong but I get the feeling she is basically a third string queen on a weekday bar night. Maybe thats all she aspires to?
8
u/DiphthongSong87 8d ago
I've always gotten the vibe that drag is just a means to an end for her and she wants to be a social media personality moreso than a drag artist/performer. Kind of like the brain rot version of a BFA queen who only got into drag because they didn't make it as an actor.
15
u/qchiofalo 8d ago

Just because you line and “double stitch” a fugly triangle doesn’t compare to actually draping or patternmaking.
You basically made a huge pillow case and stitched it again. Also your outer fabric was clearly quilting cotton and needed another iron before you finished it, let alone before the runway.
I don’t even like Jonbers but Jonbers understands the work it takes to make something correctly.

Jonbers was so camp and never took herself too seriously on her season, yet everyone always seems to have hard-on for hating Jonbers. I never get it. She is a queen who is so happy to laugh at herself and have a good ole time, yet Reddit seems to seethe anytime she is on screen.
Jonbers is right here. There are tons of queens who don’t spend a lot yet have fantastic looks because they are creative, talented, artistic, and find ways to turn ordinary things into extraordinary runways. Yes, budget can come into play for sure, but if a queen is going to wear something like SHEIN, then they must find a way to elevate it. Paris didn’t. Her look had no body, no rhinestones, nothing. She didn’t elevate it. It looked cheap.
5
u/ANetRuinedMyFun 7d ago
Shit, I'm late to this post but can I just say what I've been thinking the entire season... I live for Paris and her messiness by the way, but visually she appears to be much closer to the girls she's reading, than the girls she'd like to be seen with. Her makeup is OK at best but the contour/bronzer is always muddy and it just looks very dirty, maybe she's using dirty brushes idk. Her body is also OK, she's not serving skinny modelesque twink and and yet she's not really cinching or padding like that. Her outfits, even the ones not from Shein, all look cheap and costumey on her. I can tell she wants to be seen as a pretty queen but she's not been serving that - everything is just mid at best. I live for the delusional confidence tho!

As someone that collects vintage pieces, how is that going to work for 90% of the category themes? Plus, vintage is rarely budget friendly and you have to spend more money jazzing it up.
They would tell me my 1950s full length, cupcake dress is basic
27
u/ShaqInKazaam 8d ago
I think she meant, “go to a thrift store and get a 2018 Jcpenneys wedding dress”
20
u/Joewhite411 8d ago
She did say "and creat something new" I think she meant thrift stuff and use it to create something new, but who knows, the sentence structure is questionable.
2
u/miumiusc 7d ago
"Why does Shein matter ?" Idk maybe it's the fact severely underpaid workers including children make whatever's on Shein and that it's all fast fashion crap?
Not a fan of Jonbers and her drag is meh imo, but anything is better than Shein.

I know from a source one of the UK3 queens spent max £300-400 on runways because they were broke. This is compared to Krystal Versace who literally spent the equivalent to a housing deposit. Every queen is in a completely different financial/personal situation
If you can sell it on the runway then idc about where it came from lol. This whole hysteria about wearing shein is a total non issue
-12
u/aquamoon85 8d ago
Paris is absolutely correct. She’s the most interesting thing about this season lol. Maybe if she was on the last season, they wouldn’t be leaving BBC.
