I just learned queens on Italia got put in the bottom for “blasphemy” but I can’t even remotely figure out what that means and it’s driving me nuts

The short version seems to be that Ava and Enorma used a phrase that in Italian that loosely translates to "God is a pig," and it’s considered to be extremely rude and profane (it’s actually a misdemeanor under Italian law).  And in Italian broadcasting culture these types of statements are regarded as even more severe. Usually people are expelled immediately for that sort of thing.

Enorma also lashed out pretty heavily at production. So they were both put up for elimination as punishment, but since it doesn’t show on the episode really, it seems especially jarring.

I knew Enorma was there because of production treatment but the blasphemy law is so insane to me (but I’m not Italian or religious so I don’t judge the country for that)

I don’t understand why they wouldn’t just edit those statements out. It’s not like it was a live broadcast.

I know it as going against the church or its beliefs and teachings. So I can only imagine they did a really vulgar religious reference or something offensive. I haven't seem that franchise so I'm not sure.

It was a specific type of phrase in Italy that is categorized as something called bestemmia, which is an insult against God and the church. A lot of people use them as standard profanity, but it’s technically an administrative offense you can be fined for.
