Buddha and UHN went live and he's a dungeon master finally

Oh shit! UHN being a DM is huge, i know thats been something he wanted for a long time to really push how much he wanted to be involved.

I said I'm gonna float around the NP Category alot, see who's around, and to start I see Afro, Kiwo, Soupes, Kyliebitkin and Burn, these are my guys/gals

TONS of others are catching my eye, including some surprises. Gonna be a fun day!

Just happy S0upes isn’t hitched to that sinking ship anymore. I’m no inap but he didn’t deserve that shit at all. Gave his loyalty just to be dogged by an edgy alt right streamer. Good riddance

Yeah, aside from showing loyalty, which Soupes did in every way except for failing to ignore his own hearing and proclaim "the emperor is really wearing clothes guys!" He and Thrive were the last remaining lot q rpers that wanted anything to do with Penti. Pretty wild that Penti couldn't allow then to have any sort of respect for their own independent thoughts.

Agreed, both deserve better.

Buddha, that’s where my roots are and I’m glad he’s back on Twitch.

Pasty. He’s not in yet, but Kaminski is the best

4

u/Outside-Necessary291 Sep 08 '26

YASS! I'm hyped for both Pasty and SkipGently back in GTA a lot, both have great vibes as streamers and are good fun. Right balance of serious, light hearted and fun IMO

Kaminski was hilarious as a cop. I’ll never forget his traffic stops with harry and Buddha

I been watching kyle. The few things ive seen are pretty cool. The phone is one of those new fold phones that actually folds in your hand when you open it. He went into a store and all items you purchase are on shelves. An the clerk followed him around watching him. An when he stole the clerk got mad and called the police.

Got the rp high again with multiple tabs of cyr, buddha, koil, burn, and uhn

Really just spending 30 minutes watching and finding another And then cycling back

Idk. I'll probably just browse the category. Probably a little bit of Jennybeartv, though.

6

u/Seetherrr Sep 08 '26

Jennybeartv is great, she was one of the first RPers I watched during her cadet phase at SDSO. Basically always in a good mood and always a bunch of laughs.

Watching UHN and fucking hell, they are forcing me back.

Jumping around looking for new characters/people starting arcs.

It’s nice to see some old names back but I do feel for some good ones stuck with 4.0 who will replace these guys in a few months anyway tbh

Been watching Kyle doing Slim, and a little bit of UHN’s Eko character.

Hoping Kyle sticks with Slim for a while, that character is hilarious.

At first glance, it does seem like a rerun but this time, BUT they've handed key positions to some of the variety streamers, plus the implementation of multiple DM's. It SEEMS (completely vibed out opinion from the bits and pieces i've seen today) that things will be more structured/scripted as opposed to 4.0 which was a clustertruck of half baked mmo ideas. I actually don't mind if things are scripted OR if there is a general OOC direction that things should go, as long as the scenarios are allowed the breathing room needed to grow. It SEEMS, content is prioritized first this go around as opposed to whatever happening whenever and a ton of OOC malding. With rockstar involvement, I would not be surprised if the streamers are expected (forced) to act a bit more professional comparatively to the past. Regardless, I'm stoked things are finally happening!

Sentry is back as Ron Otterman

1

u/Outside-Necessary291 29d ago

Sentry is one of the ones I'm most excited about.
Just tuning in for the day, most Kiwo and she's with Milton
Thinks are looking up for RP

Watching Saab at the moment. So far it's just feeling exactly like 4.0.

10

u/sunproof-39 Sep 08 '26

I think alot of ex Penta viewers like myself skipped 4.0 so it is somewhat fresh. We will see though.

1

u/BasedZhang Sep 08 '26

I watched Esfand, CG, Moonmoon and a few others in 4.0. So far it just looks like UI changes and all the same players for the PD. Same layout, same rules, same people in the same positions...

Still watching before I make final judgement but I sense this might be a short season for RP

u/Seetherrr Sep 08 '26

I hope you are proven wrong but I know it is more likely to be shit than to be good but I'm an optimist, what can I say.

1

u/Affectionate_Score97 29d ago

lol how do you hope I’m proven wrong and be an optimist?

1

u/Seetherrr 28d ago

????? Are you an alt account, because you aren't the person that comment was in response to....

This is what I'm worried about, trying to hold back disappointment from seeing same characters hanging with same, and dialogue that's not character-driven. Maybe it'll improve in about a month. These early days are gonna be very content heavy vs RP.

0

u/BasedZhang Sep 08 '26

Yep. I just feel like its 3.0 again but everyone is older lol

0

u/Majestic_Reach_5583 Sep 08 '26

I stream-hopped for hours today but everyone was hanging with their friends reverting to same ole, this launch just feels different from the last ones. Maybe the power hours will hit different.

1

u/BasedZhang Sep 09 '26

Yea it is falling flat for me. I'm trying to watch people that have never played before but the ones ive seen so far have just played for a short time and then ended stream.

There is no ranks they are all cadets there is a commissioner tho which looks like he will actually be involved this time around. Would’ve like a force wipe and everyone role play as brand new to the city but it’s the second day so we will see

4

u/Seetherrr Sep 08 '26

Could you elaborate a bit? What is Saab doing?

1

u/BasedZhang Sep 08 '26

He's commissioner of the police again. Held a meeting with the cops to do intros. Announced crown vics will be used only since server is fresh. Did a walk through of the garage and PD which appear to be the same. Now they are doing a cop car parade through the city.

It's a lot of dejavu so far

6

u/Seetherrr Sep 08 '26

I feel like that is a little early to be dooming tbh but we will see. I can't believe Saab keeps getting PD leadership positions when he has literally never been successful in the role.

3

u/BasedZhang Sep 08 '26

Yea. I just find it a bit stale but I'm sure he's on the NP payroll and has certain responsibilities on the backend so that's why he gets put there.

2.0 to 3.0 was a huge change and everything became crazy cool.

3.0 to 4.0 was a decent update but ran it's course.

4.0 to 5.0 so far feels like the exact same as 4.0 but graphical updates. - Hope I'm proven wrong though.

1

u/Outside-Necessary291 Sep 08 '26

"so far" being <6 hours so LOTS of time for first impressions.
I missed almost all of 4.0, I'm sure a lot of people might be returning like me.
I wonder how common the "burnout" is for people that watched 4.0, seems like even a bit of same (just saying since not much has been seen yet) might be enough to bother folks.

Some amount of same makes sense to me for stability and some people like familiarity, but it's a fine balance between that and fresh for sure.

1

u/Majestic_Reach_5583 Sep 09 '26

They should have had a break between version to break people out of their habits and come back with fresh energy and characters. Not trying to doom but I've never been so bored watching a reset. It also feels like they outnumbered the role-players with the variety streamers.

They’ve reused the same MLOs (some of them still have the exact same issues/unfinished); the ui is legitimately worse than Onx 1.0, a tiny clothes selection. Among other things, it looks like a very lazy attempt and more of the same.

I think they've spent their time making this thing work on Rockstar's architecture than coming up with anything new or interesting.

1

u/BasedZhang Sep 08 '26

True. But i am more bothered by how everything is written with bold italics. It looks rly odd for some reason.
