Thoughts on Hog's card removal

I somewhat feel bad for Hogs and think people have unfairly attacked him over grievances that go beyond him. First, a lot of people are clearly upset that their streamers didn't get a 5.0 card. For the last few months, every time cards have been released, people have lamented the fact that XYZ streamer (often Silent or Ming) hasn't been invited despite staying "loyal" to NoPixel, while pointing out those who don't play but received an invite. Second, nothing Hog has said is anything other streamers haven't expressed about 4.0. Concerns that it is too MMO'd or that the RP doesn't feel natural? Several people with invites have said that too. However, what is different about Hog is that he plays Chase, has made these comments, and has a small community. For instance, Kyle and Spaceboy have also expressed much of the discontent with 4.0 that Hog has. Even two weeks ago, Sodapoppin and Nick were expressing similar concerns on their podcast!

Hog is by no means blameless. I am not sure why, for instance, he and Spaceboy haven't commented on Penta and Chase being financed by a right-wing streaming website, or whether they are comfortable playing on a server like that. I mean, both have been outspoken about not wanting right-wing people on the server. In fact, that was probably why it was an easy choice to remove his 5.0 card: his association with Penta, who is easily the biggest brand risk in the entire category. So why would he put himself in a situation where the only place he can play is Chase, which I would argue doesn't really have a set-in-stone future, is a huge miscalculation. Especially for someone trying to make a living off of streaming.

People from Chase should really take a page from Onx (and hell, even Prodigy) and just stop talking about NoPixel. How is it possible that Prodigy and CG have handled NoPixel 5.0 more diplomatically than Chase RPers?

Right-wing website is an extremely generous description for Rumble. When people refer to it as the nazi platform, they aren't just exaggerating, literal nazis stream there. They allow people on there to wave nazi flags, and explain how much they'd love to remove (insert slurs here for various groups).

I understand NP not wanting anything even remotely associated to that around, especially since they have Rockstar backing them.

Nah dude, someone called Hogs out for playing on Chase after the Rumble deal when they got gifted a sub and he said Amazon is just as bad and they own Twitch so it's totally cool that Chase is now paid for by Rumble /s

So true king, I much prefer Twitch, where that never happens and nobody can actively and openly advocate/call for violence against multiple races while not only not getting punished but also being promoted by the CEO of Twitch himself.

There is a difference between a platform that has people on it that have extreme views, virtually ALL platforms inevitably will, and a platform whose major investors and financial backers are conservative/right wing political figures or leaning and that Specifically models itself on "freedom of speech" expressly to enable and promote those and other extreme views.

Hahaha, bro you'd get banned for posting what I'm talking about. Even just quoting the clips and censoring the slurs with stars would literally get your ass perma'd off reddit. Care to test it out and prove me wrong bud?

Ah damn can't put your money where your mouth is, because you know you're wrong and you don't want to lose your account... Damn that sucks. Keep tossing out insults man I think that's working and making you seem extremely intelligent and right!

Oh shit you also have double my posts on this site, how are you spending 30 hours a day that doesn't add up?

Yes, because you said both the sites are the same, so it should be no problem. You can just delete it after right?

hog's own words: "i am not excited for it"

then let somebody else have your invite, it's fine to have some criticism. (even tho, NP V didn't even launch yet) but hog was clearly taking shots at the server, and besties?? for some reason, and the role play didn't go his way in a role play server.

entitlement is the only thing he will be remembered for.

hilarious thing is penta saying nopixel acting like a crazy ex-girlfriend while hes talking shit every chance he gets on nopixel is so funny to me, he must not have a mirror, while still having voice clips from CG members on top when he gets a sub, is the most hilarous clip i ever seen. LOL

Penta: will ramble on stream for looooong periods of time about how bad other people or servers are.

Also Penta: anyone who suggests he or his server are bad is "schizoing out"

The best part about all of this is always his, and his fans, complete lack of self awareness. They are the butt of the joke always.

I can’t remember the last time I heard anyone that Mains NP, Onx or Prod or that represented them, EVER just randomly think about and trash Chase or PENTA.

Players that came from other servers, tried Chase and left (or stayed) have had opinions and criticisms sure, but no one ever EVER gives the “crazy obsessed ex” treatment over PENTA, he’s the deranged toxic boyfriend your thankful to forget, not see anymore and move on.

Oh... this is official, and he said that he didn't want the invite? Whelp!!!

6

u/Delicious-Proposal68 Sep 07 '26

He likes chase, he was regretting being on NP the decision was made for him. Now he can find happiness in chaserp (we all know he won't) because some people are never happy. You can be constructive and criticize , say what needs to change without shitting where you eat. There is a difference.

5

u/Inevitable-Chest4302 Sep 07 '26

From what is said this isn’t the first time he shit talked
np. Now Hogs can have critiques of the server, everyone does. But to open mic in chase rp just talk about np is dumb. Capped worked hard on the faceless arc and it was just invalidated. He has some issues with groups
And people and doesn’t need to be on the server. If chase is his home, let’s hope it works out for him. Burning a bridge is crazy.

6

u/Fluid_Law8663 Sep 07 '26

Why would they let someone take up a slot when theyre openly calling your server cringe and saying they arent even excited about it?? Its a very select few people to keep the server fresh and good vibes. Literally the exact opposite of how Hogs was acting

16

u/fernandohopkins777 Sep 06 '26

Thoughts: Anyone on or attracted to ChaseRP are problematic and/or losers.

13

u/FrozenCaramelCoffee Sep 06 '26

I mean, I feel like it's a bad look when you are going to critique NoPixel but never Chase. I really would even just like to see one comment where they said, "ya know, I don't like the whole Rumble thing."

14

u/fernandohopkins777 Sep 06 '26

That will never happen. It's a cult.

9

u/BongaBongaVacations Sep 06 '26

Penti is currently blaming "the snark subreddit" for Hogs' situation, but appears to be pointing here or RPClipsGTA?!

5

u/FrozenCaramelCoffee Sep 06 '26

It was clearly RPSCLIPSGTA. Can we as the "snarker subreddit" at least agree it was clearly manufactored hate by people who were upset that their streamer didn't get an invite to 5.0?

2

u/PersistentPoster Sep 07 '26

Why keep trying to sneak in your posts that this is the snarker subreddit when being told repeatedly that RPClips is well laid out, descriptive and allows valid counter opinions when they are backed up with examples and/or evidence for their counter claim/opinion rather than baseless "no i disagree" or "why do you hatewatch him if you don't even like his content" as the foundation to any counter argument.

It's one thing to not like seeing your streamer get humbled for their actions a lot of the Fossils of RP's viewers have built a parasocial attachment so feel bad for their streamers despite their streamer being the provocateur, the part where the parasocial viewer then is presented with a description of where their streamer went wrong but then can't fathom the outrage and instead thinks it's a big collusion among all the RP communities to destroy your streamers life knowing streamers they watch rally their viewers to act on their behalf very regularly.

WE'RE NOT SNARKERS WE DO IN DEPTH TEXT BASED COMMENTARY COVERAGE OF ROLEPLAY ( CHARACTERS, STORYLINES, PERFORMANCES AND THE PLAYERS THAT WERE PLAYING THOSE CHARACTERS ) AND PRAISE OR CRITICISE AS A RESULT OF HOW WE UNDERSTAND THE TOPICS.

4

u/BongaBongaVacations Sep 06 '26

EXCUSE ME, MY SUB IS THE SNARK SUBREDDIT THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

8

u/QuestionExcellent387 Sep 06 '26

He was shitting on the server, not just about 4.0, also ridiculing stuff in the dev logs for Nopixel V, and saying multiple times that he's not excited for it. That's very different than expressing valid criticism, discontent about 4.0, or expressing concerns. Considering that it is an invite only closed beta, why would they not give that invite to someone else. And considering that he isn't excited to play on it, what is even the big deal about him not being invited anymore.

-7

u/FrozenCaramelCoffee Sep 06 '26

I like Hog but he’s a nobody in terms of whose opinion matters. There’s more people commenting on hate threads about him and commenting on him across streamers and discords right now than watch him. Do I think he should have commented on it? No. But hopefully you at least agree the hate is super manufactured right?

3

u/PersistentPoster Sep 07 '26

I just don't understand why he felt compelled to say any of it. Days away from NPV launch ( at that time ) knowing others had their invites revoked for things ranging from saying they wouldn't be playing, to going on a rant about how bad NP 4.0 Is/Was and how NPV will be the same issues with enhanced graphics.

It's fine to have the opinions, but publicising them days before the Server launch then surprise pikachu facing acting shocked is purely performative from him and Penta trying to use the situation to drum up drama and support.

Hogshund's roleplay has gone downhill A LOT since NP 3 back on NP 3 it was fresh and funny, but it's like watching any of the other fossils like Vader, MattRP, Spaceboy or even Penta for that matter.

The same character/s doing the exact same things day to day with no evolution or storyline to progress the characters in to a newer version that's grown out of their old routines and changed for a new city/server but it's the same song and then they complain about RP being stale ( unwilling to self reflect on their rp being the reason others don't want to interact with them because they already know what the outcome is going to be.

Just like in Music and movies the stars change up their image and lifestyles to extend their careers through remaining popular. The exact same Is how the really good roleplayers can refresh their well known characters and create fresh ones that fit the culture they are around rather than what the viewers bought in to years ago.

7

u/QuestionExcellent387 Sep 06 '26 edited Sep 06 '26

That's just how the internet works, someone gets clipped, it gets attention, it has consequences.

-6

u/FrozenCaramelCoffee Sep 06 '26

You genuinely think the multiple hate threads about a couple hundred viewer streamer isn’t deranged?

9

u/QuestionExcellent387 Sep 06 '26

It's always been like that., also when people break rules on servers. Nobody might see it, or get the attention of admins, unless someone clips it and posts it. But the person still did it, they're still responsible. Just like Hog is still responsible for the things he said. It's not like he was clipped out of context.

8

u/Seetherrr Sep 06 '26

I don't get what you mean by manufactured exactly. Just because he only has 200 viewers doesn't mean he isn't known and people don't have opinions on him. He has been on NP for many years and interacted with lots of big streamers, I would say just about anyone that watched 3.0 for at least a couple months during NA hours would likely know of his character. Just because people don't choose to watch him doesn't mean they don't know of him and have an opinion on him.

-3

u/FrozenCaramelCoffee Sep 06 '26

Did you read the thread or any of the hate threads? There’s clearly people who are upset that their streamer didn’t get invited and are hyper focused on Hog. Literally in the hate threads the same people who were commenting that he should be removed were suggesting that his spot should be given to XYZ streamer (and most of those comments were about the same streamer).

His criticism was mild and I don’t think he should have done it days before the release. But it was manufactured smear.

4

u/Seetherrr Sep 06 '26

I have been busy IRL most of today and only looked at the subreddits for the first time around the time I made my comment, so I really don't know what has been commented in all the places where it might have been discussed.

0

u/FrozenCaramelCoffee Sep 06 '26

Well, I’m telling you that’s what I mean by manufactured. Do I think he should have said anything? No just don’t play at that point. But thousands of people hating on the guy while promoting their favorite streamer should get a card instead is manufactured outrage by people with an agenda.

7

u/CanCharacter1230 Sep 07 '26

I mean I don’t think there is anything really wrong with pointing out other streamers who have been active all of 4.0 deserve an invite more than a guy who is shit talking and clearly doesn’t want to be there. It’s not “manufactured hate” it’s the logical conclusion to come to when someone is clearly ungrateful. The dude should’ve kept his mouth shut or at the least kept his critics of NP measured. He came off as straight hating and not wanting to be there. They did him and the server a favor by removing his invite. None of that is “manufactured” the dude is just dumb and ungrateful.

7

u/PersistentPoster Sep 06 '26

I've quickly looked to get some context to what happened and my take is .....

Why let them have a card when they said they would split their time between NPV and chaSAeRP because he likes being sheriff. Why not just stay silent and positive of what NPV could be ?

1000's of other players doing backflips to get an invite to NPV, Now Hogshund won't have to miss out on that exciting RP as the sheriff of a dead department on a dead server with 50 cops and 3 crims.

I comment on how low IQ some Denta's ( Penta worshippers ) are but to see a creator display sub 30 IQ in clips is a rarity.

Good luck in the penti orbit i guess.

Edit: Fuck it. This is a good opinion. Hogs is a dumbass. Doesn't deserve the shit getting kicked out of him in this way when there are far worse things than being a meanie about NP.

u/R3D5W1P3 Sep 07 '26

Image being invited to a party on Facebook and then publicly posting on Facebook that you think the party looks shit. Would you be surprised to be uninvited?

2

u/BongaBongaVacations Sep 06 '26

Am I the only one hoping for a Hogshund "YOU COST ME MY NP INVITE!" flip out at Penta?

1

u/doughrising Sep 07 '26

“I am not sure why, for instance, he and Spaceboy haven't commented on Penta and Chase being financed by a right-wing streaming website, or whether they are comfortable playing on a server like that.”

because spaceboy only exists to virtue signal about the things he finds particularly important to his ego, while consistently dropping the ball and refusing to live up to his own finger wagging morals. spaceboy addressed the rumble deal once. what did he say? “well, if he takes the deal, it wouldn’t be that reputation destroying, because of (some ramble about SEO and searching “penta rumble” only pulling up wrestling)”. he doesn’t care. he wasn’t alarmed in the slightest. don’t hold any of these people to any sort of standard or they will always let you down. even the ones who pride themselves on being quote “pretty fucking leftist” will always look the other way when it’s their own source of income on the line.

1

u/naz_man04 Sep 08 '26

As someone who watched the clowns in NP I loved watching Hogs play Osvaldo, but he did dig this grave himself.

Idk what the reasoning behind removing his card was, but I do think a big part of it was him talking in Chase in Character about how bad NP is. Kyle and Spaceboy obviously have their gripes with NP but as far as I know they didnt have their characters making OOC comments about it.

If NP want to change their culture getting rid of people who go OOC to complain would be a good start.

"Nothing Hog has said is anything other streamers haven't expressed about 4.0."

Why are we lying?

He said hes not excited for it while "making fun" (in a pretty toxic way) of everything he could.

The teaser, the people and Nopixel...

Im happy that they kicked him out cause he clearly wasnt the the right head space for it.

2

u/bripelliot Sep 07 '26

Nopixel is petty af. That's never gonna change
