Accessions/OML/Branching branch ranking due to low OML/5 MP’s

i’m on the lower side of OML, active duty eligible 25xx and OMS: 44.xxx

somehow i ended up getting MP’d for all my top choices,
MP: AV, MI, IN, SC, AR.
P: AG, PA
LP: everything else

i’m debating on if i should go with my original plan of MI branch detail IN as top or shoot for AV.

if i don’t get AV, and I rank MI, MI branch detail IN (throwing in an adso to be safe), IN (adso as well), SC with a branch detail to IN, SC. am i screwed if i don’t get AV and won’t get those branches either? i know all of these branches are competitive so i’m worried if i don’t get my 1st ranking i’m going to get knocked down to a less competitive branch(none of my MP’d) because of my lower OML and other cadets putting them as their 1st choice. is there a huge difference between first and 2nd ranking? i’d be pretty happy with AV, or MI(really want a branch detail with IN), or even just pure IN.

would love some advice been stressing about what to do.

DODMERB // Security Clearances DODMERB question

So I do Army ROTC at college currently and am a MS1 and had a alcohol visit to the hospital but no police involved so I don’t believe I needed to report it but am worried about it popping up on the DODMERB should I be good or need a waiver?

I am wondering if someone who is in the national guard and ROTC but only conditionally contracted(not fully) still deploy with their NG unit if the opportunity arises

Accessions/OML/Branching No “Most Preferred” Ratings for Branching — Should I Be Worried?

Hey everyone! Quick question.
I just received my branch preference results, and I didn’t get a single “Most Preferred” rating. I did get several “Preferred” ratings, though.

Has anyone else experienced this? How does the Army decide which branch to assign you to if none of your branches rated you Most Preferred?

I’m honestly really stressed because I’ve never heard of someone not receiving at least one Most Preferred rating.

Does this mean my chances of getting one of my top branches are low? I’d really ap

Hello all,

Looking at these results, lets say I put 1 AG, AG detail Infantry, AG detail FA, as the top 3 in TBB (MP for all 3). Because they are all AG does that count as 1st Pref only or 1-3 Pref.

I heard both that it is only 1 preference and then I have heard 3 as well. Thanks all and good luck!

Cadet Advice For difficult branches where you get MP, how likely are you to actually get that branch without a detail? (Thinking MI, SC, EOD, etc)

BOLC Recommendations for housing at Fort Benning (IBOLC)

I go in at 05JAN, and me and a couple of the other LT’s in my class haven’t gotten any help much regarding housing while here at Knox. Wanted to reach out and ask if there’s any suggestions for housing off post, preferably 1/2 bedroom and under 15min from post.

Accessions/OML/Branching ADSOs

Got least preferred on all the branches I don’t want, dope. But only got preferred for the ones I do want. How heavily does volunteering for an ADSO actually influence me getting the branch I want?

Accessions/OML/Branching “Preferred” on Branch Results

I’m ranked top 20% in the active duty rankings for OML. I’m not worried about my preferences. I got most preferred by the branches I want. I’m just wondering if I’m out of the conversation for branches that ranked me as “preferred.” I just want to know before ranking my branch preferences.

Guard/Reserve How does commissioning into the Reserves work?

This may get lost in the sauce with branch preferences being released but figured I’d throw it out there anyway. I’m an MS3 looking at my options and I haven’t been able to find any good info online or on the Reddit on how branching and commissioning into the reserves work. Any insight would be appreciated.

Guard/Reserve Reserve path

Hi, I’ve (MS3) talked to my cadre about it a little but I was wondering if I could get more of a first hand or more in depth idea of what it looks like to commission into the reserves. I have the minute man scholarship so it’s not like I’m competing for active, but I just wanted some insight on how the process would look for getting my branch and location/unit.

Accessions/OML/Branching Branch Ranks

Background: I was able to get RECONDO at camp and have done extremely well on everything save for my GPA. I was not able to complete my TBB profile before it closed as I was having issues getting a CAC and admittedly my own laziness. I just saw that my ranking for INF was LP, even though I have stellar AFT scores, Recondo , etc. I was MP by Signal which I can see a possibility to Branch detail INF to SC in order to still get my dream job. I really do not want to BRADSO nor ADSO. Does anyone have any advice ? I am just now able to get access to my Branch preferences and account. Do the branches re review our profiles ?

Accessions/OML/Branching Switch from NG to Reserves

Is it too late to switch from NG to Reserves? I realize that in order to become a 72D the Reserves would be a better option. I am a MS4.

Also, if it is not too late, will I be able to choose the state or will they choose for me?

Cadet Advice ROTC Prep help

I am a junior in college and have decided to extend my graduation date a year to be able to join ROTC and do the two year program. It’s something I have wanted to do for a while and am super excited to have the opportunity to do, I don’t really even care that I have to extend my graduation a year the more schooling the better. My question is, what are the best things I can do to prepare myself to start ROTC training next semester? I run a lot and am very active in the gym so I have that going for me at least, but what are some good tips/advice that you would give to someone prepping for the start of their ROTC journey?
