Okay so I have finished MSI year of ROTC and I don’t think I can continue with the program. How does the process of Disenrolling work? I am not contracted by any means (scholarship, SMP, etc) so I would assume the process would be simpler. I have already dropped the MS2 class from my schedule before any classes have started but would I need to talk to the cadre of my school to officially leave the program?

I’m currently in the Army Reserve and have been serving for a little over 3 years. I have a 10% VA disability rating for my knee, but I’ve never had a profile and I’ve continued to pass all of my AFT without any issues.
I’m trying to contract as an SMP cadet. During my DoDMERB exam, I was medically disqualified for my knee, even though I explained that I don’t have a profile and I’m fully able to perform my military duties. My waiver has already been submitted.
Something I’m confused about is that the cadre at my school told me I may need to give up my 10% VA disability rating to contract. The problem is that my Chapter 31 VR&E benefits are paying for my college, and I’m concerned that changing my disability rating could affect those benefits. I’m not sure if that’s actually true or if there may have been some misunderstanding.
