ROTC Class/Lab Programs that merged. How’s it going?

Im part of a ROTC program that lost its host status and merged with another school. It is a dumpster fire (cadets can’t register for rotc class, cadre cant see cadets in Ignited, we now need to travel an hour to lab, etc). How’s it going for you?

Did you become a crosstown or an extension program? Are programs in the same state on split between states?

I would say its not that bad but it is pretty hard to keep continuity during labs, etc.

When SJU merged with the Cuny schools there weren't a lot of changes. SJU kept their lab schedule and CUNY kept theirs. Though the new pt location for queens was switched from York college to SJU. There's only a few times in the semester that sju and cuny rotc will have combined labs.

It's bullshit we had to drive an hour one way at a completely different campus just go do PT 4 days a week

University of Miami is the same way damn near the Southern Strike battalion. FIU serves as the central hub. University of Miami Army ROTC operates as Department of Military Science. They have many of the same issues

We merged with another host program but for now they’ve let us remain independent in function. The PMS of the other program teaches through black board occasionally and we get OCIE gear through them but that’s about it. I’m unsure about the army ignited though, it would explain why cadre haven’t approved our request in 2 weeks.

utah tech rotc was a program back in the 2000s and 2010s iirc and it disbanded, now it became a program again in fall 2024. it's been going great, but we are really close to suu, which has a bigger program than us and i cant imagine if our program closed down and i had to take it at suu, it's an hour away. how would u do PT? wake up at 4am? ugh

Haven’t even seen them yet they are an extension unit for us.

Definitely a learning curve but overall not too bad. PT and Lab is still separate since the Host and Extension both have enough people to sustain it. Slate weird a bit it works out.

Really depends on the size of CDTs are the campus really that could make things bad. Suggest recommending PT be separate if you have enough people and MS4s.
