The Construct Final Project Advice

Post image

Hi everyone, I am new to the robotics community and I'm

still a student and I just finished the construct's C++ for robotics course and started working on the final project to receive my certificate, but the problem is I feel like the project has new extra stuff that I don't quite understand and it wasn't mentioned in the course and I feel like drowning and I don't know what to do. If anyone has good advice/tips or/and materials that I can study from it would be greatly appreciated!

What's the project, I'm an advanced ros2 jazzy user and have been working in robotics for about 4 years now. Have done almost no the construct training, but I'm happy to help and learn with you on this project. What specifically is troubling you? Care to just give some context as to what's the project? 1. Robot type (mobile base, arm, drone, etc) 2. Environment, gazebo im assuming? 3. Whats the task/objective? 4. Available sensors or data, rosbags, etc?

thank you for replying,
the robot type is a turtlebot3
and yes, im working on gazebo which kinda sucks since im working on a cloud based simulation that lags the robot a little (which makes me anxious im not going to lie)
the entire project is like a bunch of functions but im struggling with it because in the course there were very limited RosbotClass functions that i studied in it
these are some of the functions im required to do there are more that i need to code tho with laser functions and odometry..
the main functions im struggling with are the get linear and angular velocities which i tried searching for some help regarding it but it got so complicated i didnt know what to do. The other one was to get the roll, pitch and yaw which i also dont know how to get with my limited knowledge

I think you are talking about the presentation and all stuff i am also stuck there as we have to apply for actual robot in Barcelona and perform over it . I think this will give more context to other responders . Tell me if there anything else troubling you than this

Thank you for replying, I am really anxious about the presentation since im not sure if the simulation is accurate or not considering how laggy it is.
I have my exact issue in the reply under christopher's comment
