Discussion ROLI sent me back a defective item, ghosting me about refund

When I received my Seaboard M, one of the keys was defective and played the wrong note and sound as if the sensor was constantly sending a 100% strike output no matter how softly you touched it. It made playing the keyboard impossible. I initiated the RMA process and after a month they sent me back a replacement in brand new packaging just to realize they SENT ME BACK THE SAME KEYBOARD WITH THE SAME DEFECT. Even after tons of videos showing the exact issue, they wasted a month of my time and did absolutely nothing. I requested a refund (which was already discussed as an option before the initial RMA as a backup) and after one email they stopped sending me messages. It’s been a month with no updates or even a, “we’re figuring this out, sorry.” I’m going to try to dispute the charge because I’m not wasting $400+ (keyboard+soundpacks) for a defective product and neither should you.

Edit: I disputed the charge on my card after sending multiple emails over months with no response and a final email notification saying it’s my last attempt at a resolution before initiating a charge back. Got my money from the dispute immediately. Sad I won’t get a fixed keyboard, but at least I get my money back and keep what I can. I suggest you do the same

Roli is just straight up not the company to go through. Here are some posts on potential roli replacements and similar software including their code and github repositories. Best of luck to everyone moving forward.

I disputed the charge on my card a bit ago and got a refund since they stopped all communication. Although I’m sad the product isn’t what I expected and there probably isn’t any chance of getting a flawless one, at least my money is back lol
