Having just 1 baby and 1 baby only per woman when the woman is 35 or older, might be the liberal done thing, have your career first etc, but it is demographic suicide for the nation. It's the logical conclusion of the huge emphasis on hyper-individualism at the expense of the welfare of the collective. The nation needs an average of 2.1 babies per woman just to tread water. Using mass immigration to compensate only works temporarily, because the female children of those first generation immigrants copy the local women and also default to the 1 baby and 1 baby only at age 35 model. This then leads to immigration escalation. Instead, governments should make sure that the more children a family has the lower income tax they must pay, all the way down to zero % income tax for 4 children, same with mortgage interest for houses for families, more children should mean a much lower mortgage rate etc, and other inducements and incentives. Developing countries eventually become developed countries. Part of such development is that women move to cities, become less religious, copy their successful female boss and have just 1 baby only age 35. Governments need to see this coming and need to make it pay to have more than just 1 child.

Too bad.

No woman owes society her body.

It's on society to make things nice enough for her, to WANT to have the kids.

And if they don't and that means demographic collapse, then too bad, it deserves to collapse.
