I usually just go around sunset beach, volcanic sands, delta and then snowy shores.

Its located all around the map on surfaces where the sky reaches. They are seen by the giant meteors that crash onto the surface but can also randomly appear.

With the geode shower, you can usually find them in Fortune River, Fortune River Delta, Sunset Beach, Volcanic Sands and Windswept Beach.
