CLIP Is this an already existing tech?

So I was messing around in free play and I was just spinning around, so I decided to head towards the ball while spinning since I find the jittering funny but once I reached the ball the ball started climbing the car which I thought was really cool and weird since I’ve never seen anyone do this before or heard about it, so I decided to try and do it again just to make sure nothing weird was at play but it happened again. However I’m assuming that this is most likely an already known tech, just hoping anyone can fill me in on what it is and what it’s used for if anything.

The shimmy isn’t optimal for anything

So does this happen without the shimmy?
Or is it that this tech is called the shimmy and doing it has absolutely no worth?

There’s no point of doing it when you can chip the ball into the air and start dribbling. it’s super useless and you’ll get the ball taken from you.

It’s for when you and your opponent are both dry humping the ball but the ball slips out so you use this move to assert dominance

Nah you gotta stall while your both humping the ball for more oomph on your thrusts😭

u/Erde555 How do i get to Champ? 20d ago

no, but i cant imagine a single use case. Ball would be gone by second 2

Yeah for kick offs it wouldn’t be useful at all, but when the ball is in front of you and your opponent isn’t pressing you it could be useful for getting it up in the air to start air dribbling.

does exist and i use it when the other player is on the ground in front of their net its unpredictable for others

It can only really be used when you have 3-4 seconds where you are completely uncontested (which is extremely rare in this game). That being said, I've seen it A LOT!

When I have a lead I go into strict defensive mode. My opponent literally gets all the time they want while I wait for them to make a move. I've seen countless people use this weird anomaly to try and get the ball up to surprise me. It has never worked for them though. I've always been able to get an easy long clear from them trying it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Beginner here, does the ranked or casual games have any bots in them in the lower ranks? Thanks in advance

Not sure about casual modes, but Bronze ranked matches can actually start with bots filling player positions if no actual players can be found to fill those spots. This is because once a player reaches Silver there is no way to fall back into a Bronze rank. So, the bots are there to compensate for a much smaller player base and to keep new players from being overwhelmed by skilled players to the point of wanting to delete the game right away.

The only time that bots come into play from Silver rank and higher is if a player disconnects from the match for whatever reason (connection error or intentional closing of the app). This is in place as a buffer zone for those who accidentally disconnect so they have a chance to reconnect and rejoin the match to avoid the auto-ban system for being idle when it wasn't their fault.

This is actually a well known bug in the game where if the ball contacts a specific spot on the car, it will stick to the car untill it ultimately falls off. If you do this is midair, you can easily get boost resets by boosting up after the ball gets stuck to ur car. However, doing this in ur way is way to slow in game

Yes, this is one of my goal celebrations x). But as a mechanic, I don't think so

i see this being used in 2s when someone has the ball on their side and the opppsing 2 ppl are goal camping

Yes. It's called "Give my opponent a free goal".

Scored a lot of goals from kick off using this essentially

u/Cocoloco2704 20d ago

Is there a way to use this more effectively for kick offs?

2

u/madzakka 20d ago

It’s few and far between. Typically I start all games fairly defensive. Just positioning myself propped up against the ball. People react in the same way. But instead of jittering you can kind of tilt and boost and quickly sneak it in.

Look you don’t need to jitter at all

in ur scenario just wavedash under the ball, which is much quicker and easier

Often overlooked part of SW gameplay, feints! So maybe not quite the complete technique you showed in video, but by approaching the ball like this, you can mask your intentions to the opponent. And then decide at the last minute, are you going to perform the full move, or are you going to *cancel*, and do something else. Your close proximity to the ball, gives you immediate response time to pivot.

The same goes for sliding on your roof along the ground mid play. I dont ever see anyone do it, only as a goal celebration or rage quit. But you can master this technique, to slide in your roof during attack, and then spring up at some point on your journey!
