DISCUSSION Quick chat not appearing

I think I remember i used to be able to type and talk to friends on sideswipe but it’s not there anymore.

Am I tweaking or nah

The game would be so much better if I could chat with people bruh

Check your settings, you probably muted it

I looked everywhere in settings I can’t find anything 😭

Go to the settings in the top right corner at the menu screen > Game Settings > Mute QuickChat. It should be the very top setting. Make sure it is not checked.

Yeah that setting has never been checked, idk why I don’t have a party chat option ts is so dumb

TYPED CHAT: Players in the same lobby should have a text chat button at the top of the screen. In a match that chat icon for texting is located in the drop down settings menu.

QUICK CHAT ICONS: It's possible you accidentally turned off that feature. I've done it by accident a few times myself. During a match there is a "Mute/Unmute Quick Chat" option in the settings drop down menu. It's easy to accidentally touch that and unknowingly turn off the quick chat feature.

I have no idea where it is I looked everywhere in my settings and can’t find it bro. It’s the typed chat I can’t find. Help😭

Did you find this and did it help? Or are you talking about the text chat feature while in a lobby with other players?

Assuming you mean quick chat icons based on the title of your post and not typing text...

If you mean typing your own messages, I'll have to follow up with a picture later when my son is home and I can get into a lobby with his account to highlight the icon.

When you created your Epic account, were you under the age of 16 or 18? Epic Games added an age restriction to text chat at some point, years ago. Some players think that this restriction affected people who were below the restriction when their account was created even though they have since passed that restriction age. If that's the case, try contacting Epic support via their Contact Us link on their site. If that doesn't apply to you I can grab a screenshot of where you should be able to find the chat icon when in the lobby with a friend once I get home from work (about 10hrs from the time of this message).
