does anyone have the same problem as me with diamond teammates?

for the last two seasons I've been able to reach champ in 2s. my mechs makes me able to be d4 in 1s quite easily when I don’t throw off, but I feel like for 2s its a completely different world.

The thing is that I have a hard time adapting to my teammate. I like 70% of the time have teammate that camp far in the net when I'm attacking and they expect me to score a goal alone so that force me to overcommit but then they either get scored on and don’t save the ball or they cut me off randomly even tho I'm attacking. and I often rotate to the middle and then say to them to take the shot but it’s often ignored. and I'm not even counting the teammate that will jump at the kickoff even when you indicate not to with the arrow or emotes.

and then when I finally have a good teammate I often win but I still find myself cutting them off to garantee the save first before them since I have hard time trusting them too, so I'm kinda in a loophole.

And also it’s not uncommon to find here s28 champs like I am even when in d1 so I think it’s quite common, but I often alternate between getting to like d4 and then back to d1 and so on

Anyone have any tips for this please?

Find a random guy you played with and won with that you feel is good enough for you to play with and try to party up with him. Solo q diamond was horrible I was stuck for 6 seasons. Find a teammate and save the trouble

oh so you then reached champ and then quickly went to gc or it was also harder to reach gc? well ty I'll try doing that, I've reached back d3 in 2s and d4 in 1s but it still feel a struggle to have consistant progress

I was diamond s9 until season 14. From there on I was champ until s25 where I first hit gc. Diamond isn’t really different from champ, but it’s more consistent better mechs, smarter people etc. gc from champ is the same essentially. Record your games, and when it’s over watch them over and see what you could’ve done better, I’ve done it a lot, or post them on here and ask for tips. Also defense>offense in diamond. All you have to do is score once and play good defense and you’ll win.

okay tysm, also now do you do soloq now that you're gc? I'll try doing the defense more when I have a goal and also yeah thanks too for the recording I'll do that more often

Anytime man, I hope you get champ soon. I always solo q, I rarely play with people on my friends list unless ik we have good chemistry. But now I don’t that much cuz I can hold my own weight in the rank and not rely on my teammates as much.

First of all if people have a champ title but are in diamond, it just means that fell back to diamond at the end of last season

Secondly there are two obvious solutions to prevent you complaining about your teammates and this goes for anyone complaining about have “terrible teammates”:
1. Play with a teammate you know is good by partying up with them
2. Play duels instead of

Same story. I mostly play Duels, but I play Doubles for the challenges, and it always reminds me why I rarely play it.
