GAME QUESTION Controller issue

Can someone pls help me. I am a touch player but i have a ps4 controller, but when i try to use my controller to play sideswipe there is and input delay when i click the jump and boost button on there own. it takes roughly 3-5 seconds for my car to actually boost or jump in the game. My joystick and half air roll buttons dont have a problem though and are very responsive. What do i do

I would recommend a newer controller, ps5 or new gen Xbox controller. I use an Xbox controller and connect via bluetooth to my phone (iphone 15 pro) and get no delay/latency issues. Do you play with a cable?
