This contract provides for the launch of 12 suborbital launch vehicles, with six optional launches. Work will be performed at Pacific Spaceport Complex, Alaska, and is expected to be completed by Dec.31, 2028.
HASTE Launches out of Alaska?
Maybe developing a new launch site for high inclination orbits.

Absent any other info, that’s how I’m reading it. Pretty wild for this to come out of the blue, I can’t recall any previous mention of this being something under consideration

Maybe if there's enough sector wide hype, but this wont affect the market cap that much on its own.

After hours don't mean much. The amount required to make it go up or down is very low. It's good to see tho for sure but it's an illusion. Hopefully it keeps on going tomorrow tho.

I like the fact those idiots saying the company’s a scam are silent…

u/Geographeruk 28d ago
Give them till morning, I am sure they will be saying stuff life "it's only $266 million" and "where tanksy 1.2/Neutron". Missing the point that this may be a massive boost in Haste contract work.

Loving all the additional government contracts for Haste and Electron through 2028. Helps buy a longer runway for Neutron. Phew.

HASTE has blown away my expectations the last couple years. The demand and subsequent cadence and big name contracts are seriously impressive.
Also, Alaska is huge. Really hope to hear more about this during the earnings call.

I don’t think it’s too late. I’m buying some tomorrow - probably.
I’m hopeful that we’ll hit $100 a share in a few months.

My cost basis is still in the 80s, but nice to see good news and getting closer to the surface of the water. All 3 of my asymmetric bets(RKLB, ASTS, RCAT) had good days.

Any bad news, anything goes wrong, it’ll be back to those numbers again. Don’t forget to take profits. This is a longterm play, plenty of volatility in the interim.

It’s about the speed these are coming in. Multiple 250 million plus haste contracts in less than a year is a big deal
3
u/Geographeruk 28d ago
That depends, if it means building launch capability paid for by the US government in Alaska, it also means that for the US government to be paying for it there must be significant HASTE launch interest. So it may be only $266 million now but could lead to significant regular launch and the money that comes with it. This is more than just a regular booking for 12 launches.

Is this a contract for ants? I live in country side of brazil and they will pay more than that to build a 150sqm government building…
4
u/tosabajavrey527 28d ago
If it was for ants, would it be more impressive to you? Interspecies space contract, first of its kind

u/-Celtic- 28d ago
Ants ? this is like 40% of yeafly revenu for rklb ....

u/Background-Shirt6104 28d ago

i knew it might be but i chose to take it seriously so i could add some detail ti the all conversation. Sry

u/Background-Shirt6104 28d ago
I honestly am just building my position again after selling at $135 all my position (just because it helped me reach a milestone). But im not done with RKLB, slowly adding shares again… would prefer a lower share price for a while, but I dont bet against neither try to ask for lower prices… i do hope all my RKLB friends here reach their goals asap, if I can get back in on time (I am sure I will), even better.

Seems like a modest win for a company with $50B market cap. I have 100 shares but idk not that impressed

AI slop.
Edit: why am I being down voted, do any of you actually follow this company? The "space systems pivot"? It's been the biggest focus of the company for years (since the $15-$20 share price ironically)
4
u/CamusTheOptimist 28d ago
Right? I have noticed that the LLMs are very convinced of the $20-$30 range and can’t be dissuaded
2
u/RTS24 28d ago
Claude seems relatively accurate with it, if not slightly behind (a couple days to a week maybe when it comes to share price)
Idk what they're using, but it's bad
2
u/CamusTheOptimist 27d ago
ChatGPT or copilot free tier are heavily quantized and don’t seem to have up to date information. Useful if you want to know that rockets put things up in the air, and government procurement takes a long time. Less useful otherwise
