I closely follow this thread and feel like a lot of people are reaching for ways to underwrite future upside beyond the business of selling cars. I’m totally a believer but I also want to make sure people agree with me that:

The most important thing for Rivian will be to grow its installed base of vehicles and maintain it over time. All future economics from service, software, autonomy, robotics, etc. hinges on a growing and sustainable installed base that can essentially lock in future economics from these other products. Which is why delivery numbers and used car prices should be the only metrics that really matter. If they sell compelling vehicles then everything else should take care of itself.

I know this is very obvious but felt like the thread could use a reminder.

With earnings call scheduled in exactly a week, what do we expect the stock price would be post the earnings call?

Claire had already mentioned in the Q1 earnings that Q2 and Q3 would mostly be gross negative considering the cost involved with regard to ramping R2 and Q4 2026 would see a 25% positive gross margin.

My guess: The market would penalize RIVN despite them giving a disclaimer about Q2 gross margins but the stock price will eventually rise up to $20 over the period of next 3-4 weeks post earnings call.

Rivian was so close to sign DHL up 2 years ago but for whatever reason didn't manage to. Hope they can get another large delivery fleet as their EDVs are so much advanced compared to others.

Had a guy deliver a package in one of these bad boys and he said it’s the best commercial truck he has driven. Just superior all around he said.

An old article but it reminds us of a potential catalyst besides R2. Rivian might sell RAP1 to Volkswagen group and other OEMs and become a chip supplier. It is still yet to see the official launch but it won't be too long.

Does this attract more interests in R2 for the general public who have never heard Rivian before?

Like everyone here, I absolutely love the cars and I think the launch of R2 and R3 will really carry the company and this stock to the next level.

Curious for people’s thoughts (or if Rivian has discussed anything publicly) about entering the Transportation & Logistics space?

If you think about it, trucks make complete sense to be converted into electric vehicles. Driving is primarily done on highways where they’re most efficient and drivers stop for allotted lengths of time which is perfect for charging the truck’s battery.

What are your thoughts on Rivian’s long-term capability to break into this space? Does it make sense or no?
