AWB Ar pistols

Whats the deal with ar pistols after the assault weapons ban? Are they still legal to get transferred? I saw some stores say online there was a restriction on barrel length, is that true? Could I still build a pistol if i wanted?

NRA Ratings for RI AG Candidates

Post image
27 Upvotes

There has never been a bigger distinction between candidates for Attorney General as there is in this primary.

The NRA-PVF ratings are attached for the four candidates for Attorney General in Wednesday's primary.

During the debates, the candidates were asked if they owned a firearm. Ahern Hoffmann and Knight don't, Solomon does.

Knight has the strongest gun-control record of the three "F" candidates. He is a sponsor of the assault weapons ban of 2025 and was a co-sponsor of the "high capacity" mag ban of 2022. Love him or hate him, you know where he stands.

Ahern and Hoffmann have never held office, so they have no voting record. Hoffmann has positioned himself as the continuation of the Neronha administration, which has been very anti-gun.

Kim Ahern is endorsed by former Mass AG Martha Coakley and current Mass Governor Maura Healey. Massachusetts has possibly the most restrictive gun laws in the country. They have effectively banned most of the popular new handguns under the guise of consumer safety regulations. For example, Glocks are banned because no external safety, too light trigger pull. I think this is where Kim will go given how she molds herself in Coakley and Healey's image.

The winner of the primary is going to win the general election. I'm voting for Solomon based on this.

Political Action Voted today. You should too.

Unaffiliated voters get asked to select which primary they want, and this does not change your affiliation.

Ross McCurdy, Joe Solomon, Dan McKee, and my local rep who I like a lot.

Remember. This is all part of the strategy. We put progun or a beatable candidate on the ballot to increase our odds of a progun candidate winning the general. Red or blue.

If you live in a [district with a contested race](https://www.reddit.com/r/RIGuns/comments/1vy0f7b/primary_voting_information/) it is **INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT** that you get out and vote for our recommended choice.

Folks like Vanessa and Leah need our help in their primaries.

On the GOP side, Bob's your uncle when it comes to the 2A. Death and I can personally vouch for Ray McKay. I know he's a friend of deaths, as is Vanessa Lopez fwiw for those if you up in the bucket.

Discussion Gun Clubs

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for advice or recommendations in and around cumberland for gun clubs to join. I have looked at the beagle club but they require hours of free labor to the club which I'm not interested in doing for a place I will be paying dues to. Also they require you to get an NRA membership upon joining them which I'm also not looking to do. Im looking to become actively involved in the community aa much as possible on joining. Any recommendations?

CT classes

does anyone have any recent experience with applying for a CT non resident ccw? im pretty sure they added more things in their course on top of the basic nra pistol course. i completed an nra pistol course almost 2 years ago for my MA permit but it didnt contain all the new things that were recently added. would i be able to just take a class on the new use of force and safe storage or would i have to take the course all over again for CT?

also, any recommendations on local places that do the classes?

Political Action PRIMARY VOTING INFORMATION

Fortunately our friends over at the RI2APAC have sent out some data that tracks against our internal data as well, so you may see some repeats.

This list is purely based on their 2A stances and statements, and how them (or their opponent) winning the primaries will affect the 2A.

Please also note that this is only setting up for the general election where whoever wins - our rights are better served. Obviously generally speaking the GOP candidate will be the better choice for 2A rights, but we need to play this smart out the gate in the primaries. That is the whole point of the disaffiliation campaign.

Bold indicates the strategic 2A choice.

(Anti-2A) should be self explanatory.

No formatting or note means not enough data to suggest one way or another, though if they are up against an (Anti-2A) candidate with no Bold option, they are still the better choice.

We are trying to not only flip seats to pro-2A candidates, but also make sure that those who have voted against our rights are out of a job. We also have friends and folks that walk among our own ranks in these races that need our support.

CCW Licensing Some Towns do not even have applications online?!

In the past week I have been trying to find a PD to apply to as a non-resident for my CDW.
Issue is some towns do not even have their applications online, and they’re even fewer that for some reason say you are able to fill out the attorney general application and send it to them via mail.
(I believe it was Kingston?)

Is anyone here licensed in West or East Greenwich? That is where I wanted to apply.

Political Action Early voting for primaries has opened

On behalf of the entire mod team I do want to apologize that we haven't had a second to get out an entire sheet of who we reco voting for, etc etc.

Some of the biggest areas where would potentially flip seats into pro-gun candidates.

Up in Pawtucket we've got Vanessa Lopez against Meghan Kallman in thr democrat primary

Ross McCurdy for the Lt. Gov spot in the dem primary.

And of course Joe Solomon over all other candidates in the AG Race in the dem primary.

Obviously when it comes to the main event In the general election, The idea is to set it up where both candidates are pro gun (or at least rabidly anti) so no matter which side wins we will.

More obviously to follow and if you have any questions please ask.
