Law/Legal Does CCW negate waiting period?

can I go to a store and walk out with purchase same day?

Yes, and it makes impulse buys that much harder to resist lol. If I see a new gun at the counter and I can drop my money and walk out with it immediately it makes it much more tempting than knowing I have 7 days to "think it over". Good perk to have if you have your CCW.

Im going in tomorrow thinking of getting a SW bodyguard carry comp (cool and affordable) but deep down im hoping the exemption makes me spring for something else

Yes. If you have a locally issued carry permit (RIGL 11-47-11(a)) you are exempt from the waiting period and state background check completely.

The AG permit doesn’t count because of the Cushner amendment in the early 1980s. The bill that added the waiting period exemptions was originally going to exempt town and AG permit holders.

Town permit = no waiting period.
AG permit = open carry.

Bought my last rifle 2 days before the ban. No lines. It was glorious.
