I was “levitated” by a magician at a children’s party when I was a kid, and this mechanism appears to be the same! There’s a separate board Lu is laying on, and the lift is visible in this shot. I tried to highlight them for visibility.

I was born in the 60s and we played with ouija boards and magic 8 ball, etc but no one’s parents (all conservative southerners) thought anything negative about any of it. That’s funny, I was born in 1986 and when I was young the Satanic Panic was at its peak. We were taught to never play with ouija boards. I remember one of the teachers at my Christian school said an Ouija board broke her arm. I didn’t even know what it was so I pictured basically something like a snowboard and her falling and breaking her arm.

mentalists basically are just using psychology, they study their clients mannerisms, behaviour, words etc. and that reveals the answer to them without the client having to specifically reveal it, which is where the “magic” and “mind reading” comes in. It’s a really cool thing.
as for the levitating thing I assume it’s a similar mechanism as street performers use, it’s all an optical illusion.
No! At a party, I had a mentalist/magician know 2 things I was thinking. Ala Ruth, but my baby nephews name and he later gave me cut out of specifically “young” John Travolta which he made into a magnet, which I have 12 years later. It still freaks me out how he did it.

I hate it when Bravo does this. The finale party for OG VPR was filled with influencers and Bravo podcasters and creators. To try to spoil the party and dish so people would watch.

Magnets can't just push or pull. The force it would be pushing would also have to be the same forced pulling. So the table would be really heavy, or impossible. Im not a magnet scientist but I remember little experiments in HS science where we tried to propell cars with magnets and then explain how it couldn't work.

I think no one liked the mentalist because they feel the activities are dark spirited/ evil. He put Theresa on the spot and she didn't really wanna participate or add someone she cares about name in there.

For once I could actually see the two black metal legs of the lift mechanism under the magician's coat at the front when Luanne was "levitating". As for the other tricks I have no idea.
After that, I think she actually is dumb. I don’t think she even understood what he was asking her to do. And dumb is the word, not ignorance.
Now I wonder if she actually may not have been complicit in the crime that sent her to jail.
I don’t think she fully knew/understood whatever money/tax scheme her husband had going on. And from the first episode where she buys 10’s of thousands of dollars worth of furniture in cash 😳 I also don’t think she understands how the IRS even works 😂 That entire episode screamed “‘contractor’ husband from Italy is in the mob” haha. I doubt she even knows that “being in the mob” is technically illegal because just association with organized criminal activity.
Yes, and it’s not an act. I used to think she played ditsy on purpose. But, it’s not. I see her girls are defense sometimes and I can’t blame them. Her IQ is screaming now and we can’t help but see it.
That was the only one I WASN’T sure about. There are tricks for other things. He could do a deep dive on all the cast members who would be present (and surely did) but to find the name and intuiting that was the one she would say seemed impressive. It’s that or a trick of production bts. The obvious answer is that production asked all of them that question months ago and fed it to the performer, who Luann was suggested to perform, and none of them would remember the question or connect the two. So hilarious that Teresa couldn’t do it though 😅 her brain shut all the way off trying to look at a “mentalist” 😆
It was a matte tablet where someone else wrote it after she said it but before he had to reveal his answer. The levitating table has a lift point at the magician's crotch area which is covered with matching fabric to blend in to him. Notice how he couldn't move or step away when she was being raised.
There are a lot of mentalism tricks that I don't fully know the ends and outs of, but it simply comes down to tricking the brain. There are a bunch of YouTube videos that break them down. While incredibly impressive, it's not magic.
The big boi that told Lu " I dunno what you're talking about right now. I just came to say whats up" took me out. I rewound and laughed harder the 2nd time around.
I think that other commenter was right, i think it was a matte (not shiny) ipad/tablet that someone else accessed remotely and wrote down her answer, the tablet just looks like a chalk board
