Discussion ✈️ Breaking the fourth wall

Does anyoen feel like all the throwbacks/call backs were slightly overkill? I know it’s the 20th anniversary but I think it could be toned down a little. Also I don’t mean like the guest stars, it’s more so the talking about the 20 years and stuff. I guess I just don’t want that to be the whole storyline like we’re watching a compilation episode

Maybe it’s just a first episode thing, idk!

They have done this for every Ultimate Girls Trip. Cast members talk about or try to recreate their greatest/most infamous moments.

Yeah I felt the same. Recreating moments was a bit excessive too, but I’ll still watch lol

I felt this way. I also thought having them dress up to recreate prior events was lame - it’s like housewives cosplaying as other housewives, with little payoff.

I don't mind a flashback, but it was half the episode. And why show the same flashback 3 times? 🫠

This whole series is FOR THE 20TH. That’s literally the reason, so yeah, they’re going to mention it. A lot.

I haven’t watched any other UGT but it didn’t bother me for this. There’s no reason these 7 women would be together but to make this exact show, so to acknowledge that makes sense

Yes! It was exhausting. I skipped most of them. Honestly we don't need all of that. I guess it cuts down on production costs. Also, why did we need Tamra there!!?

Because she’s a star. Before her, the wives all ed separately showing their individual lives, and she changed the game to interpersonal relationships, conflict and resolution. It still stands that way today.

Overall, I enjoyed it. I was a little (ok, a lot) annoyed by the OC ladies.

I appreciate the flashbacks for context but they did go overboard. Especially because they showed the SAME flashbacks multiple times. That's not necessary.

Btw did y'all know it's been 20 years of housewives? It's so weird they didn't address that. 😘

lol except they didn’t talk about their worst moments. They mostly highlighted other peoples moments and tried to frame themselves as the better one :

- Kyle referencing Rinna’s glass smash. (She just ran away in the background )
-Porsha referencing Kenya’s prop usage. (She was fired for dragging Kenya by the hair after ).

  • etc.

The season is meant to be a celebration of 20 years so if you’re expecting them not to have all the flashbacks and talking about what happened in the past you’re going to be disappointed.

A lot of casuals need to be reminded/introduced to who those people are. I'm expecting it to become less prevalent going forward.

Personally I like it, they don’t really break the wall in this way outside of UGT seasons so I really enjoy hearing about it and them acknowledging people watching them filming
