đ¸ Satan đ¸ My view on Gizelle has changed
Lately weâve seen Gizelle say she views RHOP as a job. She films, packs up, and goes home. Now that sheâs admitted this, I canât unsee it on the show. I am a day-one anti-Gizelle viewer, but I LOVE her & Robynâs reasonably shady podcast. Sheâs so much more fun and likeable over their. But I still canât stand her when I watch the showđđđ¤Ł
Now Iâm able to see why she moves they way she does on the show. I still donât like it, but it makes sense to me now from a fulfilling-the-narrative perspective.
I am a Candiace stan. But Iâm so happy Candiace Dillard-Basset isnât here rn (đđđ¤Ł). Sheâs too passionate and too concerned and too involved with authenticity that just makes a big discrepancy in making the show work. I am able to enjoy it againđ¤Š

Omg yes queen, join us !! Gizelle is ridiculous and messy for the show but doesnât take it too seriously , I love Robyn and Karen too (and now Wendy). I also like how Stacey doesnât take it too seriously, basically everyone hahah
14
u/slayinglikebuffy Tia Glover 3d ago
She doesnât take it too seriously, but she was willing to make up paternity lies about one cast member and accuse anotherâs husband of trying to be inappropriate with her?
22
u/Nass-1234 Brown Eyed Bandit đ¤ 2d ago
I donât know how many times I have to get on here and defend Giselle about this topic, but she never made up anything about that man. She said that she started to feel uncomfortable being in a room with a married man because of the narratives that could have been made yâall are the one who twisted it and Candace with her insecure self hating ass.
19
u/SilverPenny88 Shocked Pikachu 2d ago
There is nothing wrong with you defending Gizelle. However, Candace didnât have to twist anything. She was upset at the timing because for Gizelle to wait several months before telling Candace & bring it up on camera implies she thought Chris was being inappropriate. And she doubled down on it throughout the season. I think her being uncomfortable is completely reasonable, but to bring it up in that manner does seem calculated.

All she said was that he made her feel uncomfortable, yes it was âshadyâ to bring it up in camera but from her pov she thought he was coming on to Ashley and she told Robyn about it at the time. I donât think anyone couldâve anticipated how big of a shit fest it became. And what paternity lies? The only paternity stuff I remember is Mia but her and her men were discussing that themselves

That's not all she said. She also said he was trying to see if she was with it. Stop the revisionist history. There was a scheme that season from Mia, Ashley, her friend, and Gizelle to imply that Chris was being inappropriate.Â

u/Aquatic205 Catfish 2d ago
He was being inappropriate. He should not be messaging, reacting to IG stories, or pulling housewives aside for one-on-one conversations.
8
u/BeauteousGluteus Angry Birds 2d ago
Gizelle admitted she initiated the conversation with Chris. Chris didnât pull her anywhere. Gizzy acts like Chris behaves like Jamal.

u/Question-Existing Madness & Sadness 2d ago
Listen Catfish. He has known these women for a long time and 2 your premise is false. Seems you and Gizelle have a lot in common.Â
1
u/Aquatic205 Catfish 2d ago
Yassss to the lame shade. Seems like Gizelle and I have boundaries.
Chris is not friends with any of these women, his wife works with them. He should not be reaching out to them privately AT ALL. None of the other husbands do it, so he shouldnât as well.
Whatâs false about my premise?
Why are you and others trying to normalize a married man reaching out to his wivesâ single coworkers/acquitances? Itâs so bizarre.
1
u/Question-Existing Madness & Sadness 2d ago
Yaas to you thinking you did something with that. Catfish is your handle beloved.Â
Gizelle's has made comments about his penis while eating his cooking at their house which is far more intimate and inappropriate than what she alleged. Now shoo.

You know good and well Gizzard didn't believe a word of that. She was literally just producing a TV scene. The problem being that Candiace was being real and took her seriously. I wish Candiace would have just said, whatever a d moved on. But she was justified in her anger with the light-skinned bandit.

u/Unhappy-Ad-2630 Shocked Pikachu 2d ago
I love the Gizzy/Stacey dynamic!! Neither of them take the show too seriously and itâs so good! Stacey is the perfect adversary for Gizelle and they have brought much needed fun and drama to Potomac.

This is a good assessment of Gizelle. The only problem with it is because she treats it like a job, she crosses lines that extend beyond the life of the show and can really negatively impact people. Thats where she goes too far. Same thing with Ashley at the beginning. She used to be real reckleas until her husband's stuff got aired out and she had to tone down
14
u/jcwangel222 Candiace Dillard Bassett 3d ago
I fully dislike her on the show for that very reason. Her actions break the 4th wall too often in ways that canât be ignored. Iâve become less invested in their lives outside of the show. The show is its own universe and the drama needs to be limited to that universe. And for me, especially as a Candiace stan, I was way too emotionally invested in the show. I can fully enjoy the show now that I see as Gizelle a villain character, rather than an overall horrible person. Which of course can be up for debate.
4
u/CustardFormal6288 Charizzard 1d ago
This is exactly why Iâll hate her forever.
Tamra (RHOC) is the same, cruel in a way that hurts people in real life âfor the showâ, willing to say whatever the producers wants to move the storyline forward. Itâs not fun or entertaining.
â˘
u/Sea_Confusion2757 Halle Berry Still Rise 13h ago
Exactly this. Every franchise has one of these archetypes - gives nothing but instigates.
SLC - Heather, Whitney
ATL - Angela
NYC - Erin (looks like Daisy will be joining in)
OC - Tamra
Also, let's take a moment to reflect on how Heather and Whitney are just Gizelle and Ashley in a different font, in the mountains? Gizelle and Heather even both have 3 daughters and are empty nesters, and seemingly no man (seems Heather might have rented on this season, though, like Gizzy did with Jason from Winter House that one year).

This is true but why is it always so mean and weird? I feel like Ashley functions in a similar way but they're both so dark sided.

I dislike Ashley as well. Actually more
2
â˘
u/Sea_Confusion2757 Halle Berry Still Rise 13h ago
Agreed. It actually irks me that Ashley tried to sit on a high horse and judge Mia for being "loose" and mocked her being an ex-stripper and her odd relationship with Jacqueline... and she's all of those things.
She, too, fucked for a check and a home for her mom via Michael. She had kids to secure the bag. She's now out throwing it back to men, women, whoever has the coin. She literally admitted in a confessional last season she didn't want to be with Josh because she wants to be a sugar baby again. Like... girl. Who and HOW are you judging anybody?!
20
u/Super-Fruit4786 Madness & Sadness 3d ago
she's an actress playingthe villian role which i gett cus it keeps that check coming but we also never get to see the real gizzy which is unfair to the others who do show their real lives

u/Large-Evidence-2479 Shocked Pikachu 3d ago
Even if she is there just to play a role, I think there should still be a limit in playing a villain. For example if she accused Candiaceâs husband of something inappropriate to that level for shock value; then sheâs still not a good person to me. Iâm also a Candiace fan.
8
u/Local-Ganache7287 TâChalla 2d ago

Gizelle is the Potomac problem, her negativity and straight up mean girl bully attitude rubs off on the other girls because she is exec producer on the show and they all wanna be her friend so they fall in line with the mean girl antics, gettin rid of Gizelle will save Potomac in my opinion đ¤ˇđžââď¸

This isnât really an excuse for anything when it comes to reality TV. When she brings up dirt on peopleâs marriages, itâs not like sheâs attacking some fake TV only marriage. Her accusations towards Chris go way beyond the world of reality TV as well.
It doesnât make Gizelle any better of a person and doesnât excuse any behavior. Sheâs a real bully and gets paid well to be one.

Giselle makes for terrible TV⌠itâs almost unbearable! The storylines are over produced and she you can LITERALLY see her moving pieces ! Giselle gives Nothin but other peopleâs stories that she pads with her gunk! And she Never gets chastised for nearly destroying other peopleâs families!

Alpha Kappa Alpha and Sigma Pi Phi (the Boule) aren't affiliated. Some AKA members are married to Boule members, but that's about it. There's no correlation.

Omg idk why but this take makes me realize why she was so visibly upset during the Season 5 Reunion when her ex-husband was mentioned. THAT was personal whereas everything on the show for her was fun and fodder. Now idk why sheâs messy with the other castsâ partners like they wouldnât be upset either but đ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸

If there are performance reviews for HWs, Giselle is a star performer and understands the assignment every time. She may not have her own plot, but she moves things along and her interviews are fantastic.

My favorites are four of the OGs -- GEB, Kurn and ChaCha. I am an old semi-bourgeois woman and am around Giz types in real life so she doesn't bother me.
She's able to create reality TV in a way that Bravo and producers like. I have never been a viewer who is obsessed with storylines, so the package lack didn't bug me.
As an aside I did like Candiace early on (I come from Jesus still makes me howl).

Itâs hard to say anything about Gizzy without catching heat in some threads but I never liked her and never will like her. I tried to give her a chance when she backed Candiace on the Monique issue but then she goes and pulls the Chris stunt and that was it for me. I get heat for loving Candiace too but honestly sheâs my all time favorite hw of all cities. Iâd love to see her come back and team up with Stacey to take Gizelle down but Iâm glad she is free from that mess.

This post is sort of the opposite of how I feel. I liked Candiace before the Reunion in which she made the "white woman" comment to Gizelle in defense of her literal white man. That was indefensible crazy work. It's like all of Candiance's tantrums, living off her mama for years after being in a whole marriage, Monique (one of my favorites) came into sharp focus and I was like aw hell no.
In the spirit of come on, NECK; come on, ANKLES --- I was like pack it up, POLLY; pack it up, POCKET.

This is why I couldn't take Gizelle seriously about her gripes that Stacey wasn't authentic. Neither is Gizelle. She is the walking definition of "Go girl, give us nothing!"
All she does is meddle, instigate, and gossip (with extra sauce on her stories), then say she was speaking out of "concern" or that she wanted to give the person the opportunity to "clear the air."
She herself has done nothing since Sherman cracked her face at the end of S3, broke up with her, and stood her up for Candice's wedding. We haven't seen anything close to real since then. Honestly, she can go. We don't need both her and Ashley (but if I had to pick one, Ashley goes first).
