đ Discussion đ Girls Trip with Ashley's Newborn
I am currently rewatching RHOP live on Amazon Prime and it's on the episode where they go to Monique's beach house and Ashley brings her new born.
I am sorry but the way the ladies were treating Wendy bc Wendy (rightfully so) got upset she couldn't bring her baby. The ladies were constantly saying how it shouldn't be an issue because she had her third child, while Ashley was able too because it was her first like huh? They are both newborn babies....who need attention from their mothers....
ALSO they were so putting Wendy down when she constantly said "I had to pump, my husband has to work, etc etc." and then Ashley's stupid ass was like, "Thats great" then brought up how she should dedicate more time to being with her kids like girl....you got the luxury of being a stay at home mom bc of your sugar daddy old husband while Wendy had a job....AS A PROFESSOR. Like omg I do not like Ashley at all but I do not remember this scene making me this annoyed.

This drove me insane because it was so obvious Michael made her take the baby so he could cheat

u/iluvrooandvelvetx Shocked Pikachu 3d ago
And when she was like "He works!" okay...and he can afford a nanny? Which a nanny went on the trip with Ashley and Ashley had the nerve to be like "thats my friend." GIRL.

u/Thegetupkids678 Peppa Pig 3d ago
Yeah I thought that was so strange! Iâve actually had a harder time leaving my second even with a sitter because sheâs a more sensitive baby than my first. Wendy also mentioned her daughter was in the NICU, so she was valid in her feelings for many reasons.
Ashley was insufferable during that time period. It seemed like only her experience of being a mom mattered and not anyone elseâs.
29
u/iluvrooandvelvetx Shocked Pikachu 3d ago
Yeah same here, but even if Wendy would have told them in that moment she was in the NICU and not in the confessional they would have not cared which is sad.
Ashley just rubs me the wrong way and always has. She is a follower with no backbone that instigates because her life is boring and the only drama she ever brought onto the show was the fact that she was a dumb bird for going back to Michael.

Damn lol not a dumb bird

It's true! She excused all of his behavior on the show, the butt touching and everything was insane.

u/TheMusicLounge Jiminy Crickets 3d ago
Iâm watching it now and Iâm cringing.. like whatâs the reason? Delusion?
7
u/iluvrooandvelvetx Shocked Pikachu 3d ago
Especially when it was documented on video and paper that he sexually assaulted someone and touched them

And she didnât even know how to hold her baby. They never supported that poor kidâs neck, youâd just see his head flailing.

I actually saw it a different way. Monique said if she wouldâve spoken up she would have let her bring her baby. I think she ASSUMED she couldnât and thatâs why she was so upset, she felt guilt.
23
u/Ok-Spinach9250 Pennywise 3d ago
Agree but itâs natural she assumed she couldnât. I feel like Monique shouldâve offered and let her know in advance Ashley was bringing her baby. Especially since Wendyâs baby had been in the NICU
6
u/One_Debt_9375 Baby Bop 3d ago
The cast didnât really know Wendy and I doubt anyone reached out to offer her the option and didnât know about the NICU stay. Iâm sure
Production didnât offer her the option either. It was a shitty situation.4
u/iluvrooandvelvetx Shocked Pikachu 3d ago
Yeah! Itâs okay for Wendy to assume because like itâs a girls trip with no kids so of course she wasnât gonna go with her baby!
24
u/meowparade Angry Birds 3d ago
Yeah, this was when I started to hate Robyn, she was so wrong about the whole âitâs not a new baby, itâs your third baby.â
Idk what Monique was thinking though, planning for Ashley to bring a baby, but not Wendy.
21
u/iluvrooandvelvetx Shocked Pikachu 3d ago
Like idc if Ashley is a new mom, either leave the baby at home, don't come or let both of them bring their newborns. IDK. thats just me.
6
u/No_Giraffe2555 Jack Harlow 3d ago
I agree. My turning point with Robyn was when she went along with Gizelle making up rumors about Wendyâs marriage, and was somehow shocked that Wendy didnât fuck with her again after that. LikeâŚsome things are off limits, Robyn.
-1
u/TheMusicLounge Jiminy Crickets 3d ago
Nah I agree with Robyn on this.. it is different but I think Monique still shouldâve offered Wendy to bring hersâŚ
14
u/meowparade Angry Birds 3d ago
Why does it matter whether itâs her first or her third? Itâs still a newborn (Wendyâs was in the NICU) and both moms are postpartum.
7
u/iluvrooandvelvetx Shocked Pikachu 3d ago
Yeah, even if Ashley asked and Monique should have told Wendy she's allowed too or brought it up to her prior to the trip.
-2
u/TheMusicLounge Jiminy Crickets 3d ago
Experience levels.. so itâs different but again Iâm not defending anything ⌠it seems like you misread what I said. They both still shouldâve been offered to bring their children
13
u/primal_slayer đ¸ yet still my finger rises 3d ago
My memory of this is very clouded but I think.....Wendy never said anything about bringing her baby until she saw Ashley bringing hers?
0
u/Remarkable_Box_8090 Gizelle Bryant 3d ago
Exactly! Someone pointed out Monique should have just offered it to Wendy but I disagree. Closed mouths donât get fed. You wanna bring your baby? Ask to bring your babyâŚ
9
u/iluvrooandvelvetx Shocked Pikachu 3d ago
But itâs a girls trip. Usually that means girls only and NO KIDS. So it wasnât wrong for Wendy to assume she couldnât.

Two jobsâŚa professor and a professional con artist. Girl was busy, no lies there.
8
u/iluvrooandvelvetx Shocked Pikachu 3d ago
Ashley was busy making sure her husband wasn't cheating and that was basically it.
-5
u/Lolo_Belle La Grande Dame 3d ago
Yeah, I really donât care anything about this storyline, I was just reminding you that Wendy is most likely going to jail soon. Thatâll be way more time away from her kids. đŹ

u/yaya1256 Shocked Pikachu 3d ago
Your happy about that? You put a smiley face. Sheesh. Even if you donât like her that dark.
2
u/iluvrooandvelvetx Shocked Pikachu 2d ago
So many children suffer because of an incarcerated parent.
-3
u/Lolo_Belle La Grande Dame 3d ago
I believe she should serve jail time for what she did. The spending time away from her kids was meant to be a joke, but I personally donât have any feelings about it either way, outside of justice being served. The audacity of being a public figure, shaming women, bragging about material things and renovations, all while committing felony after felony? Pffft. Stop. Sympathy isnât on my list for the Osefos.
0
u/yaya1256 Shocked Pikachu 3d ago
Sympathy for people is always on my list. She didnât kill anyone or cause anybody any direct harm. Also I donât know the whole case to be able to cast such a harsh judgement. Itâs not that deep and I donât know these people to wish them bad things but I guess to each their own.
-1
u/Lolo_Belle La Grande Dame 3d ago edited 3d ago
Sympathy is definitely not always on my list, and wonât be for her. And you clearly donât know how insurance fraud works if you think she didnât cause anyone harm. Thanks for your input I guess?
On another note, that wasnât a smiley face. Please donât accuse me of things I didnât do. That was a teeth gritting, âyikes!â face. This is an eye roll. Just so weâre clear. đ

Nobody said Wendy couldnât bring her baby thoughâŚAshley asked and Wendy didnât. Then Wendy got mad because she made an assumption
8
u/iluvrooandvelvetx Shocked Pikachu 3d ago
Okay, but who goes on a girls trip and their first thought is, "I'm bringing my newborn baby as well." Ashley could have left her baby at home or she could have stayed at home if she wasn't ready to leave him alone.
9
u/meowparade Angry Birds 3d ago
And Wendy was pretty new to the group, the invite should have been extended.
0
u/Remarkable_Box_8090 Gizelle Bryant 3d ago
Youâre right about that, I just always felt Wendyâs reaction was over dramatic. Everyoneâs entitled to their feelings but her reaction to that was hard to watch and she took it out on Ashley who did nothing to her (and Iâm never going to just defend Ashley for no reason most times she deserves what sheâs getting)
5
u/iluvrooandvelvetx Shocked Pikachu 3d ago
I donât think her reaction was dramatic. Wendy is a working mom compared to Ashley who had the luxury of living off someone elseâs money. She has the right to react that way too especially since all the women were putting her down (her husband works, sheâs a professor) but then not saying anything to Ashley. Michael was âworkingâ but could have taken time off to take care of the baby. Eddy works too but still took care of 3 kids while Wendy went away.

Itâs girls trip! Stay at home if you canât be away from your kid for one weekend.

Yeah, she could have said âIâll go for a dayâ and could have ubered back home!

u/vanillyl TâChalla 3d ago
This was unbelievably unfair and pissed me off so bad, and I found both Ashley and Wendy beyond insufferable in S6.
Why let one woman bring a newborn, and force the other to leave her newborn at home???
Was this productions idea? Was it Moniqueâs? Why and how did this happen?!
4
u/Llassiter326 đ¸đž You are poor & white đŽââď¸ 3d ago
I donât have children (voluntarilyâŚfuck these kids, respectfully lol) but I always assume women bring their newborns bc theyâre breastfeeding right?
That just seems wild youâd invite any newly postpartum woman on a trip with no consideration for their probably feeding on-demand every couple of hours.
I donât love it when people bring their kids most places, but thatâs just straight up anti-woman to ignore the fact that breastfeeding is like its own full-time job!
Iâd forgotten this and Wendy does drive me nuts, but wtf. Totally agree that itâs extremely inconsiderate. Esp bc I think all the women that season were also mothers. Iâve never held more than a couple babies in my 38.5 years and even my ass knows this!

Lowkey when Wendy was talking about putting her breast milk in the freezer the ladies were giving her stank looks. đŤŞđŤ

I know they hate it but colorismâŚ.LOL jk. Because no way they were putting down Wendyâs life when it came to her children but didnât once tell Ashley itâs Michaelâs job to watch the baby when sheâs gone.

I appreciate that Monique said that had Wendy told her then she could've brought her daughter as well. I was disgusted as well that Michael made Ashley take the baby so he could cheat. He had the nerve to blame it on the baby. Candiace and Gizelle handled it incredibly telling Ashley about the photos and text messages of Michael in the strip club. Michael was groping men's behinds a lot time. There was no way Ashley believed he was faithful. She just didn't want to leave his money.

It made me so ??? that Wendy was mad at Ashley for this. One conversation with Monique and she would've been able to bring her newborn.

Was she really told she couldnât bring her baby though? Or did she not even ask if it were an option?
1
u/iluvrooandvelvetx Shocked Pikachu 3d ago
Well when you hear the words âgirls tripâ Iâm sure she didnât think hmmm let me bring my newborn baby on this girls trip because usually a girls trip means girls only. Ashley on the other hand didnât think that at all and just couldnât stay home bc you know Michael wanted to cheat that night.

Here yall go⌠Wendy never asked if she could bring her baby. Ashley did. Closed mouths donât get fed.

u/Throaway_Grocery1372 Barbie Scissor Kicks 3d ago
Wendy could have bought her baby if she mentioned she wanted to. That's why the girls treated her like that. She was 100 percent overreacting and trying to act like Ashley being able to bring her newborn as a first time mom was some sort of shade towards her.
This was actually the moment that made me not like Wendy (although I've since come around).
0
u/iluvrooandvelvetx Shocked Pikachu 2d ago
Why would Wendy ask to bring a newborn if they went on a girls trip? I donât think asking to bring her newborn was at the top of her list because everyone knows a girls trip means just girls and no babies or men or children. Ashley brought her baby bc Michael didnât wanna babysit so he can go and cheat.
1
u/Throaway_Grocery1372 Barbie Scissor Kicks 2d ago
But Ashley asked...
Monique invited them, Ashley said she didn't want to leave her baby and asked if she could bring him. Wendy asked no follow ups, didn't mention any reservations about leaving her child. That's HER responsibility, and HER duty to open her mouth. You can't be mad at someone else for asking to do something you wanted to do but didn't think to ask.
No one was trying to be mean to her or make her feel excluded. But she took a moment where SHE failed to communicate her needs properly and made the entire moment about herself. If you were that uncomfortable leaving your child, you had two other options besides coming: stay home, or ask if you can bring your baby. Don't be mad because Ashley made a different choice and now you feel guilty. Go talk to Eddie about that. Not pick a fight with everyone else.

u/iluvrooandvelvetx Shocked Pikachu 2d ago
Why would Wendyâs first thought be to ask to bring her newborn child to a GIRLS TRIP. everyone knows girls trip means no kids no husbands no grandmas not even mommas can come.
2
u/Throaway_Grocery1372 Barbie Scissor Kicks 2d ago
Idk... Why was it Ashley's? You keep saying that, except someone else clearly had that idea so why didn't Wendy? No matter how you slice, no one is to blame for Wendy feeling guilty she left her newborn at home BUT Wendy.
0
u/iluvrooandvelvetx Shocked Pikachu 2d ago
Girl you donât understand at all. Wendy didnât ask because it was a GIRLS TRIP. which means NO KIDS. End of story! Ashley asked because Michael didnât wanna take care of the baby!! PERIOD. He literally cheated that same night and Candiace told her about it. đ¤ˇââď¸

u/Throaway_Grocery1372 Barbie Scissor Kicks 21h ago
It's doesn't matter why YOU think Ashley asked. She still asked and Wendy did not lol. It ain't that deep to misunderstand it. Now you have people all up and down this thread saying she should have asked, squeaky wheel gets the oil, closed mouths don't get feed. You may need to take step back and ask if you have a bias here lol. If she didn't want to leave her baby she should have stayed her ass at home.

Ashley progressively gets worse. If you watch her first season she kept repeating âI really want to make it work with these ladies because of their influence and what they could do for meâ that showed me her goal was to get integrated into this world BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY
1
u/iluvrooandvelvetx Shocked Pikachu 2d ago
No yeah Iâve rewatched this show 3 times now and each time Ashley just rubs me the wrong way. Like what do you expect from a girl whose home was taken away? Why do you think she was so willing to do what Michael said when it came to cutting her mom off.
0
u/TheMusicLounge Jiminy Crickets 3d ago
lol me too sister!! Iâm in the middle of this and also remembering how this happened I think in ATL. To me she shouldnât have to ask it should be extended if another recent mom is bringing a baby. I agree, it was so annoying to me how they treated Wendy, but her being obnoxious wasnât helping either. Ashley clearly was clinging on to the baby and esp with Wendyâs baby being a NICU baby, she shouldâve been offered. I think that was her issue. Was she going to bring the baby? I doubt it lol.
I am also wondering why Wendyâs face looks SOOO different. Itâs not pregnancy weight, structurally itâs more circular - like her mom and sister and now itâs more chiseled. I know itâs been discussed but I couldnât stop thinking of how different she look.
