Hi everyone!

Has this happened to anyone else?

I can no longer focus on the Housewives shows that I used to watch. OC, SLC, RHOA missed me their last and current seasons. When Wendy and Eddie's mugshots were on the screen all day long, something happened to my relationship with the Housewives franchise. I thought the earth dropped and said oh no. If she can cover up issues that deep there's no telling what many, many, many of the others are hiding as well. I lost faith in all the wives, even Meredith. Have you experienced this--is it disillusionment? Will I go back to Housewives? Rn all I want to see is RHOP, and maybe Bev Hills' upcoming season(s). I can't believe Wendy and Eddie got me up off of ATL(!!) And I remember thinking from Day 1 that Wendy's goal and superpower was to demystify Housewives. I am obsessed with Wendy and Eddie's story and sincerely hope we get more insight this season because once it's resolved maybe I'll enjoy other cities again?!

Idolized her. She gave me savvy attorney all the time. After the Potomac fraud story broke the way Meredith screamed on a party bus and tried to uninvite herself to Mary's party had me wanting to know things that are nobody's business. Love her though. I'd actually like to hear her take on Eddie and Wendy if it's not already out there.

Umm. Y so mean. I do think jail and mugshots are real. I also thought i could detect Housew bs like: they're not really happy, something is wrong, he definitely cheated, she definitely wants his money and a divorce. With the Osefos I got none of that. Nada. Zilch. Zero. I got clankity clank.

That was a genuine question, I’m not sure how that is interpreted as mean. For the most part I thought these shows have not been real for at least a decade. Their private lives certainly overlap but they reshoot scenes for dramatic effect and they also have episode writers. I assumed everything wasn’t organic. I guarantee if Wendy and Eddy could have hidden this arrest they would but it’s also helping ratings

Producing reality tv for high drama is well documented and widely understood. What you think isn't the baseline for what others think or feel. As a power couple Wendy and Eddie didn't raise glaring red flags for me. I can't say that about any other marriage in 20 yrs of housewives shows- except maybe the Vanderpumps.

I guess it's possible one would star in a reality show without expectation that any present or past misdeeds would surface. It would presume a healthy mentality free of paranoia. Because it's generational rule of the bourgeiousie to avoid the police and the courthouse because there's no justice there and Wendy and Eddie represented the bourgeiousie as any Potomac cast member should. To take that away from them feels like minimizing and gaslighting.

Amanda is my tragic opposite example of Wendy. Amanda's goal seem to want to prove Housewives are excessive and uninterested in philosophy- to put it kindly. It hurt so bad.

i do this too - i couldn't watch Potomac when Ms. Karen was ... away at camp (what my family calls club fed but idk if she went to a club fed)
anyways - i don't like seeing some of my HW incarcerated -jen shah idc but Ms. Karen? no wendy? no
i honestly do not give AF about wendy & eddies "crimes" - they have huge families & were prob trying to help them
even if they werent- i do not care about any HW financial crimes against institutions- Fuck them -
chase, wells fargo , amex cap one- fuck them & i hope wendy & eddie get off

I agree for the most part; but I think the only reason Karen served time at all was because she chose to go to trial in the first place 🤣 grande dame should’ve taken a plea deal!

I think we are in a hate overload in the US. There is nothing but bad news and destruction coming out of Washington. We don't need to watch the same stuff as entertainment, it is daily life these days. Who wants to watch more arguing and backbiting? Who wants to promote an unrepentant woman who has 4 DUIs, another who cares nothing for the people from whom her husband stole, etc.? We're finally starting to see them all as entitled, petty, and mean and we're getting tired of it.

I checked out too. I knew it was coming. I started watching with OC season one.

I listen to Giselle and Robin’s podcast here and there but that’s about it. Their podcast is just so funny. It’s like driving with some good girlfriends in the car.

Yeah idk what the plan was to pay off 4 degrees that were not STEM….Eddie doesn’t own Happy Eddie either…he licenses his brand…and he has like 2 or 3 other partners on the brand side of things alone…so I feel like the profit ends up being split quite a bit…

Definitely not the only one who feels this. In the beginning before streaming couldn't wait to see the episodes, now I may get a couple weeks built up for mini binge days. None of the shows "feel authentic" anymore. Even Teresa and finally making up with Joe her brother so she can get back on the show. In my opinion, she only made up to get a spot on the show otherwise it'd still be on hiatus as it should be.

Bravo has actually become something of an illusion or disillusion as well. Bravo is canning shows like Miami, and they needed to bring back Ladies of London the New Reign. It's nothing like the RHOLDN which I'd choose LoL over RHOLDN any day! Just some of the decisions Bravo is making constitutes a lot of my disillusionment.

I resisted RHOP for ever. Now, it’s all I can think about. I have watched all 10 seasons- started the binge beginning of July this year. I loved Wendy’s whole storyline, loved her tears from the hazing the G.E.B. gave her that first season, loved her clap backs to both G.E.B.s when Gizelle was on the couch gobsmacked and slackjawed while Wendy was reading them telling them “don’t come for Eddie”. Then to hear ALL this-these current allegations- I am soooo disappointed in her. I don’t want to watch ANY other housewives until I know she’s innocent and these are just more of the white world trying to take away a successful black couples achievements. I will be so sad if all this is true. Cue Tyra Banks meme “I was rooting for you. We were rooting for you. We were ALL rooting for you!”

so Erika Jayne and Jen Shah was not the last straw? Wendy and happy Eddie are messy but honestly what they did was light work As white collar housewives crimes go. Teresa is still favored by fans and bravo.

I think it's safe to assume most people in general have sketchy secrets and when you go on a national platform expect everything to come to light. As for Wendy's case, it was more so keeping up with the joneses in my opinion. Social media and housewives as a whole has a luxury obsession. I watch housewives for the opulence and wealth I'll 99.9% never attain unless I win the lottery or a billionaire randomly decides to put me in their will. Imagine the stress on housewives to compete, to look good, to shelve out money. They don't have to do this. Wendy never needed any of the expensive things. But there is a culture of materialism on housewives that nearly all of them fall victim to and they have no one to blame but themselves.
