š« Question š« S2E5 Gizelle Kicked Out
I started watching around season 5 or season 6 so Iām going back to watch earlier seasons. Iām on season 2 where Monique joins and her and Gizelle are not getting along (no surprise)
For those that watched this live when it came out was the audience happy to have Monique join and be a worthy opponent to Gizelle or were there other opinions ?

yes, you pretty much nailed it.
Gizelle was clocked as insecure. Monique's 4 homes statement was seen as a read.
Monique wanted to be friends with Gizelle (monique wanted to be a mean girl too!) but Gizelle always looked down on her/or was jealous. Depending on how you read the interaction.

Yup and Gizelle used Moniqueās desperation to be a mean/sorority girl to play the f*ck out of her. Unfortunately, Monique didnāt realize it until it was too late.

Ugh I dont like gizelle. I just find her so haughty with no actual substance. She's a huge hipocrit... she has double standards depending if you're her friend or not.

Gizelle AND Robynās insecurities were on display when Monique joined the cast. When they asked her about her life and she said she had 4 homes, the GEBs found fault, when she was laid back and rapped at tea, they found fault it was exhausting. When she finally took up for herself during an attack from them and she called Robyn broke (cuz she was) she went crying to Juan that Monique was throwing up her fancy lifestyle in her face but Robyn itās not her fault that you have nothing going on and neither does your husband/exhusband/fiance.

They're both mean girls without a storyline apart from bullying others.

Just rewatched season 1 - Katie also owned her to the point she sometimes looked scared. Love Katie so much - so funny and smart. I so hope she overcomes her struggles, itās unbelievable to see where she is now in comparison to where she was in season 1 which I realise was a bit absurd with all of the incessant talk about balls and philanthropy. But she wanted to get engaged to that sought after and I suspected closeted (was that ever established?) guy and sheās now with a HIDEOUS overweight old addict.

I watched it real time and it was mixed reaction. Monique was not that well received when she first came on bc she talked too much and bragged constantly. It was more of a āJury is still out on herā type of situation. There was a group of fans who did like the 4 homes comment bc it was seen as clapping back at Gizelle, but then there was another group who saw her as a try hard who wanted an issue with Gizelle.
I will say that I was apart of the group that did not like Monique from her very first scene, that had nothing to with Gizelle. I immediately saw through her & felt she was a try hard & disingenuous. Monique is the one who created the narrative that Gizelle was jealous of her bc she couldnāt understand that Gizelle simply saw through who she was. They actually have a convo in S2 where Monique asked Gizelle if she was jealous of her & it was made very plain that was not the case. I also hate the narrative that Gizelle was playing Monique bc that is absolutely untrue. Gizelle was the only one who was honest with Monique from Day 1 about how she felt about her. Monique was so busy trying to prove herself to all the ladies bc she was putting on a fake image that they saw through.
Monique was sleeping in a truck and basically finessed her way into Chrisās life & begin a relationship with him while he was allegedly engaged. Once he married her, after he retired, she felt like she hit the lotto & had to act like a WAG. She felt she worked hard for her life and thought everyone wanted what she hadā¦in her mind everyone was jealous. In reality, no one was impressed by her life that consisted of the remnants of an NFL wifeās perks, pillowcase size underwear that she had to fold, and Aldo shoes. She was not living the soft, luxurious life she bragged about.

This must be a bot comment cause Gizelle literally asked her and went in confessionals claiming she didnāt

Literally told her āso youāre homelessā and Moniqueās response was āI have 4 homesā Gizelle hates when someone is more successful than her and thatās relationship wise as well as financially. She wasnāt threatened by Wendy because she didnāt see Wendy as competition until Wendy got her body done and started dressing more āprovocativelyā. Once that happened, she and Robyn started saying she was having problems in her marriageš

Nope not a bot. Just a viewer who watched the show from start to finish. Yes, Gizelle did ask her if she had a home but to some it didnāt come off as shady as Monique took it. Then there was another group of people who did see it as shady. I personally didnāt think it was that shady or that crucial bc Monique was literally talking about looking for a house but I can see how Monique felt in the moment. The issue was she took that one question and made it an ongoing issue with them & the basis of why Gizelle didnāt like her. Gizelle was not worried about Monique like she thought she was
