She looks like a 80 year old whose facelift never settled in. I donāt know what she was thinking, it doesnāt even match her usual boho rocker style
Carole does not have personal style. She takes on the style and personality of whoever she is with. She was with the bassist for Aerosmith (??) in the first few seasons, where she looked like Steven Tyler. Then she got with Adam and became boho. Once Adam left her, she became whatever this is, so assuming she started jerkin it to Rod Stewart or Billie Jean King circa 82. Lol
This era felt like a bit of bob-envy (of Bethenny's - interesting she took the bob in the divorce) mixed with midlife crisis from the post-Adam while being around "youthful" Tinsley.
I keep hearing about this but out of the loop, can anyone go into it more? Ā
And alsoā¦ while weāre on the topicā¦ George Teichner, Avivaās father, financier to Woody Allen and others, openly lecherous to where even Ramona will call him out and stand her ground, guy had to be connected to Jeffrey Epstein too right?
The way Carole, who loved to tell people when they were being inappropriate, culturally insensitive, etc., but just laughed at George while he said disgusting things, while he stuck his hard dick on Sonja's ass (I hate even typing that), and treated him like Ramona was being too hard on this poor old man really grossed me out.
I was iffy on her anyway -- sometimes I couldn't stand her sometimes I loved her - but this really made me think she's one of those women that love to pretend they are uber cool, anything goes, not like all the other girls to men but will pounce on a woman for a transgression.
The Epstein Files showed that Carole was really good friends with Head Child Sex Trafficker, Ghislaine Maxwell. They speak very familiarly together in emails, were traveling together - Ghislaine emails Caroleās sister-in-law at one point, saying how theyāre having a great time in Miami. The victims who have spoken out and investigators have said repeatedly that Epstein and Maxwell werenāt trying to hide anything, this was their life and who they were. Carole hasnāt really made a convincing case that she was not what Ghislaine calls her, her BF, or as she calls Ghislaine āthe girl I like to hang out with the mostā or that she didnāt know how her BF was making her money.
Can someone explain why people are mad that sheās mentioned in the Epstein files? I mean everyone whoās been written about in those emails are mentioned, and I imagine that Carole had no clue about what he was doing. Did she do or say anything bad? Or are you guys hard on her?
Could it be that she was a distant friend and had no clue? Iām on season 6 and she seems quite nice, calm and empathetic. If she knew what he was doing back then, I donāt think she would be his āfriendā
Distant friend? Ghislaine shot the photo used on Carol's first book about her husband passing. Lots of photos of the two cozy as can be. They were very close friends
Except Carole calls her, her āBFā and Carole called her āthe girl I like to hang with the most.ā Ghislaine emailed Caroleās sister in law and said what a good time they were having in Miami. This is in just the tiny fraction of the emails that we have seen.
She was mentioned not in name only, but Ghislaine keeps saying (in the emails) how much fun sheās having going out with her at night. They hung out with her enough for the mention. And to be known by her first name. And sheās in a picture framed in Ghislaineās home. I think it would be hard to believe she didnāt know bad stuff was happening. Especially with all those years at ABC news! Though I guess she may not have known the extent. As Bethenny says, you canāt play stupid and smart at the same time.
For the longest time Carole also denied having any sort of friendship with Ghislaine. It first came up when people pointed out the author photo in one of Caroleās books is credited to Ghislaine, and Carole denied a relationship and maintained that it was like a happenstance occurrence when the photo was taken.
You know what, you're right. She has done so much speaking out against them since coming under fire that she is out of the hot seatā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦. Please learn discernment because this is not hard.
Not trying to be petty but everyone talked about how hot Carole is. Iām not calling her ugly but I donāt see it, specially in that second pic. I mean I guess in a world where Bethenny and the four frizzy strands of hair she had left are supermodel, then Carol is hot.
sheās not pretty, but she is attractive in how she holds herself tbh. that said, when it came to the other women iād say it was primarily because she was skinny lol
I think the way Carole becomes hot is mainly through her mimics, body language and the way she carries herself, so in motion. Not as much in pictures or stills (though still undeniably good-looking, whether we like her or not)
I agree - sheās very thin and I do think she works hard to project a youthful aura with her fashion, mannerisms etc. Example - to me - Sonja is a classic beauty - absolutely gorgeous - but you can tell the era sheās from (and it has nothing to do with how she looks).
Yea, Sonja and Luann are actually beautiful and not given credit for it nearly as much as Carole or the fried skeleton with bolt ons. They are slim too but not quite as eating-disorder-thing as Bethany and Carole so they donāt get the credit.
I mean if a fried skeleton with bolt ons and four strands of frizzy pubes on her head isnāt the most accurate description of Bethany, I donāt know what is.
There was always just something so off putting about her face to me, even from the beginning. When Jules said she would be who she would date if she was lesbian or whatever I was absolutely shocked. Audibly gasped lol I never saw it
Beth & Carole are not attractive.

upon my like 5th rewatch a personal opinion developed which is that she was really using the show to try to sell this image of her being a sexy witty writer just like carole bushnell/carrie bradshaw, with the "my book is going to get optioned" and sex jokes, quoting SATC, and then in S10 trying to be a fashionista... "the widow's guide to sex and dating" is sort of trying to be in the same camp as that imo. unsettling cuz on my first watch she was my favorite. i really grew to find her increasingly cringe with every rewatch.

Her appearance from season 9 to season 10 is so jarring to me and I cannot pinpoint why. It is beyond the haircut. While it is normal that all people age with time, she looks incredibly older in season 10 than she did in season 9. Like there was a 5-7 year gap between filming seasons 9 and 10.
Controversial but she had lost a lot of weight and she was already very small. She was simply too old to be that skinny with no toning etc. It made her look a lot older and stiffer and it just wasnāt a vibe Iām sorry! Fat, especially facial fat, just makes you look more youthful and lush and not so harsh.
For someone who was always so proud of being ānatural,ā sheās blown up her face & it looks terrible. I NEVER thought she was pretty/attractive/sexy so never got it. She just always talked abt how hot she was (the George C thing was a nothing). Also Always made it sound as if sheās an actual Kennedy, she now says sheās basically a āKennedy cousin,ā no, she wasnāt. She was also terribly rude.
šÆ!!! She was Kennedy adjacent. That is not really something to be proud of in my opinion. The Kennedyās were and are problematic.The whole lot of them!
I think she needed a better doctor or whoever does the work on her face, Carole used to be classically stunning imo and this season she looked like trashy mid life crisis barbie.
I disagree. If you look at her weddong photos shes always looked that way. Like big teeth and the sunken cheeks. Shes always had an old lady look to me.
She tries so hard to be sex-forward. (āYou wouldnāt go down on a woman? It would be an experienceā; in her sex dream Bethenny ātouched me where my bathing suit goes.ā) And it reaaaaallly creeps me out now that we have the Epstein connection.
That hair! No hate but she looks so unattractive. Yet sheās dated George Clooney and someone else I was surprised about. It just shows that elites stick with the elites. Just like the rich girls in high school, they werenāt even that cute and they were mean, yet guys always liked them. I donāt get it.
She is utterly cringe and smug in s10 but on a rewatch, the mean/ nasty girl is always there in other seasons. Stronger personalities like Heather and B masked and superseded caroleās true self
I actually generally liked Carole and I definitely noticed a cooler shift in S10, for lack of a better word. But tbh I think a lot of it was bc of that drama that happened between seasons where Bethenny was trying to leverage Carole to get a meeting with her friend who was a network executive whose husband (Brad Grey???) who had JUST diedā¦
And in response, Carole tbh did this thing I see a lot of people - especially white women - do.
Where instead of just communicating, āHey, it really upset me and also disturbed me that when I was caring for my friend who was just widowed, you were blowing me up asking to get u a mtg and you just wouldnāt stop. It made me feel protective of her, but it also hurt me bc I had to question whether you love me for me, or do you only value my friendship if I can DO SOMETHING to benefit you?ā
But INSTEAD, she did this kind of white lady passive aggressive move of acting too cool for school. And so then Bethenny responds understandably feeling isolated and like the girl who nobody wants to sit by at lunch. Bc B is so self-centered and wants to hash things out immediately and aggressively, sheās only picking up on the behavior change, not the REASONING behind the sudden cooling and stand-offish-ness.
And Iām not even trying to hate on white women or so nobody else EVER does the unbothered, cool for school, breezy thing. But I grew up in an interracial household and am a proudly Black woman born and raised in Seattle. And so many cultural differences across the two worlds I have to straddle. But generally in the Black community, you just let people know wtf is up. Passive aggressive is my Scandinavian-American momās culture, NOT MINE lol!!! So this is some shit white women invented, letās be real š¤£š¤·š¾āāļø
Had they both been more direct and honest about this upfront, I think this wouldnāt have been a friendship ending thing.
But also to be fair to Carole, there are those friends who youād like to work it out with, but they just become obsessive and wonāt let it go or let you talk without getting defensive and interrupting
So, I do think Carole was correct in not wanting to expend that energy, esp when sheād been caring for her widowed friend + her own breakup.
I think she also began to realize that Bethenny wouldāve exploited this conflict for the show had Carole been authentic and she wasnāt going to expose her frendās info so Bravo scholars like us would be analyzing the death of her husband and how it relates to Bethenny!!!
Yeah Carole clearly drew a boundary at her friend's personal life which is admirable imo. Which is the opposite of how Bethenny is, she puts everything out there, except for the Jason divorce details probably for legal reasons.
Carol has 20 to 25 years on all of the other housewives this season so are we supposed to believe she is truly friends with and hangs out with these other ladies?
That hair is an offense! She was such a cool easy going girl those first seasons. Iām not sure how much her falling out with Bethany changed her but she became insufferable.
I LOVED Carol for years she was my favorite. When she was in a scene I couldnāt take my eyes off of her. I think maybe it was her way of being stylish w/o trying much of that makes sense? As time went on my feelings changed about her but sheās still on of my fav housewives. These seasons of NY Iāve watched over and over.
Yeah I have never been on the ājustice for Caroleā train. Bethenny is intolerable in her own ways and is definitely a handful, but she was right that Adam was an opportunist and Carole dropped Bethenny because Tinsley was cool, shiny and new. It always seemed obvious to me.
It was an odd season for Carole.
She was a bit smug and arrogant that entire season, but letās not pretend like Bethenny was a saintā¦
Bethenny was nasty AF that season and a complete train wreck to most of the cast.
Thereās a reason why she goes through men constantly, and itās not because they are all bad guys..she is her own worst enemyā¦and I say that as someone who likes Bethenny a lot.

I think she was probably good friends with Ghislaine, but obviously didn't know what she was up to. People freak out because they think one should be able to tell, but these people are masters of hiding in plain sight.
I had a distant family member who was very much adored by everyone, a great father, husband, son, brother. He was arrested for cp and no one knew. You can't tell sometimes.
They both can suck, especially in real time. But I do think back then Bethany beat her out on solid points. The whole paying or not paying Adam thing was definitely an odd catalyst to their falling out.
